Stop fighting your stiffness. We use intelligent drills, props, and consistent practice to safely build mobility in your hips and hamstrings, helping you progress at your own pace.

A happy student in a deep hip-opening pose during our Sunday workshop. The smile says it all. Practice should bring joy, even when it's challenging.

Another student finding her edge in a seated hip opener. Age is no barrier to practice; with consistency and patience, the body continues to open and surprise us.

Using a strap to assist in this complex seated hip-opening pose. The strap acts as an extension of the arms, allowing the student to work on the posture with better alignment.

The joy of progress. This student is smiling through a challenging hip opener, showing that the journey is just as important as the final pose.

Demonstrating a quadriceps stretch during a class. A good practitioner pays attention to the entire practice, from warm-up to cool-down, because a strong foundation is everything.

Students in our advanced teachers' class practicing hip opening with a twist. This kind of work helps to deepen the asana practice for regular practitioners and teachers.

A short tutorial on how to approach Upavistha Konasana, the wide-angled seated forward bend. The key is to first work on bending over each leg before trying to go down the center.

The journey to Hanumanasana, or the full split, is one of patience. It’s not about forcing, but about consistently showing up and opening up bit by bit. This moment of finding the pose is a result of many small steps.

A student working on Kurmasana (Tortoise Pose) with my guidance. In this pose, the shoulders and knees become friends. It's a deep forward bend and hip opener that requires patience.

A student in Kurmasana during our Malad class. This deep forward fold and hip opener is a milestone in the Ashtanga series and requires a great deal of flexibility and surrender.

About Hip Opening & Flexibility: Unlocking Your Range of Motion

Instead of forcing your body into a deep split, I teach you how to use props like blocks and straps to create necessary space. Whether you are working on Kurmasana or just trying to touch your toes, we focus on alignment that respects your body’s current limits. It is not about looking perfect in the pose; it is about feeling the release in the right places.

My Approach to Hip Mobility

Many students come to me frustrated because they want to rush into poses like Hanumanasana (full splits) without preparing the body. My philosophy is simple: be calm and kar kaam (do your work). We don't force progress. Instead, we break down complex movements into manageable steps.

What We Work On

We move beyond basic stretching. In my sessions, we focus on:

  • Intelligent Sequencing: Drills that open the hips and hamstrings systematically so you don't feel overwhelmed.
  • Prop Usage: We use blocks, straps, and wall space to make challenging postures like Kurmasana (Tortoise Pose) or Upavistha Konasana accessible regardless of your current flexibility level.
  • Consistency over Intensity: I teach that 1% of effort every day beats trying to do 100% in one go. It won't happen in one day, but one day it will happen.

Is This For You?

Whether you are a complete beginner feeling stiff from sitting at a desk all day or a regular practitioner looking to refine your technique, these sessions are for you. My students range from beginners to fellow yoga teachers looking to polish their own adjustments.

If you are keen to go deeper, join me in one of our Mumbai-based studio classes in Andheri or Malad. Bring your mat, some dedication, and leave the perfectionism at the door.

I’m Ajinkya. I believe yoga isn't about being perfect—it's about showing up and doing the work. I’ve seen enough students struggle with stiffness, so I focus on breaking down complex poses into small, manageable steps that actually feel good.
