About Yoga for Every Stage of Life
You don't need to be naturally flexible to start; that is exactly what our props are for. Whether you are using a chair for support, hanging from wall ropes to decompress your spine, or unrolling a mat for the first time, I am here to provide the modifications you need. You will never be asked to do something your body isn't ready for.
Your Journey, Your Pace
At Agastya Yoga in Sector 23, Gurugram, I work with students from all walks of life. I have seen folks in their 60s and 70s discover new strength through aerial yoga, and beginners find confidence using wall ropes for alignment. My teaching style is not about drilling you like a soldier; it is about guiding you gently.
How We Make Yoga Accessible
- Props for Safety: We use chairs, blocks, wheels, and bamboo sticks. These aren't just tools; they are extensions of your body that help you enter poses safely and effectively.
- Wall Rope (Kurunta) Yoga: This is excellent for traction therapy. If you have back pain or stiffness, the ropes allow you to decompress your vertebrae without straining your muscles.
- Aerial Yoga: For those who want to add a bit of fun, our silks allow you to experience inversions and deep stretches with the support of gravity, making it a great option for building core strength.
- Personalised Attention: Whether you are dealing with an injury or just starting at age 60, I personally adjust the sequence to fit you. You won't find a 'one size fits all' approach here.
More Than Just Poses
We always finish our sessions with Savasana and meditation. In the middle of the fast-paced life of the National Capital Region, my goal is for you to find the shanti (peace) you can carry home. If you are looking for a community that cheers for your smallest wins with a hearty 'shabash', this is the right place to be. Come as you are, and let us start practicing.
Agastya Yoga
I started Agastya Yoga because I believe everyone has a hidden conqueror inside them. My studio is a space where we treat each other like family, and I make sure every student gets the personal guidance they need, no matter where they are starting from.
