About Beyond the Mat: Core & Fitness Workouts
Our core training is not about aesthetics. It is about building a stable foundation for your spine using traditional Mudgar training, Hanuman Dand, and controlled bodyweight movements. We teach you to engage your deep core muscles, not just superficial abs, so you can move through your daily life with better posture and reduced back pain.
Most people treat yoga and gym-style fitness as separate worlds. At Adi Anant, we merge them. You get the flexibility and mindfulness of Hatha Yoga alongside the functional conditioning of modern strength training.
Why we use props
We use simple tools like chairs, step-boards, and blocks to bridge the gap between where your body is today and the strength you want to achieve. A chair is not just for sitting; it is a tool to support your weight while you learn to isolate and fire up your core without straining your lower back.
The 'Beyond the Mat' approach
- Functional Movement: We integrate Kalaripayattu movements to improve your agility and coordination, not just your stamina.
- Strength Training: We use dumbbells and kettlebells to build the raw power that helps you hold challenging asanas for longer.
- Core Stability: Our focus is on the center of your body, training the deep abdominal muscles that support your spine and pelvis.
Whether you are training for a headstand or just want to feel lighter and stronger, these sessions are designed to move you forward. We are not just counting reps; we are teaching you to control your body’s energy. If you are struggling with chronic back pain or feeling weak during practice, this is where you start.
Adi Anant Yoga Studio
I created Adi Anant as a home for seekers, not just a gym. I believe yoga and functional strength must go hand-in-hand to heal the body, so I personally guide each session to ensure your form is safe and your progress is steady.
