Build Core Strength and Stamina Through Yoga
Forget just stretching. My sessions focus on dynamic flows and powerful postures to build genuine stamina and a rock-solid core. Let's make your body strong from the inside out.
Hanuman Dhand is a powerful exercise for the back and core. I recommend practicing ten of these daily to prevent back problems and build immense strength.
Let's check your arm and shoulder strength! This video shows a challenging push-up variation that tests your upper body power.
Hip-opening poses like this variation of boat pose are crucial for alleviating back pain and improving circulation, while also engaging the core.
A strong core supports your lower back and makes you feel better. This clip shows students working on back extension exercises to build that foundational strength.
A fun challenge to test your leg and core strength with a Malasana (Garland Pose) variation. Try it!

Leg stretching and balancing poses are not just about flexibility; they build incredible strength and stability in the standing leg and core.
This dynamic group exercise, moving from a seated position to a reverse plank, is excellent for improving posture and strengthening the entire back of the body.
I guide a student in a partner-assisted Locust Pose, which helps to intensify the back-strengthening benefits of the asana.
About Core & Strength Building
I don’t just want you to do the poses; I want you to feel the foundation. In my sessions at Absolute Fit, we use specific movements like Hanuman Dhand to build functional strength that protects your back rather than straining it. It is not about how many repetitions you hit, but the control and intention you bring to every single breath and movement.
Many people come to me thinking yoga is only about flexibility. But true wellness includes strength. My sequences mix Hatha and Vinyasa flow to ensure your heart rate gets up and your muscles are engaged. Whether you are dealing with a desk job and need to fix your posture, or you are already athletic and want to challenge your limits, these sessions are designed to scale to your level.
Why Strength Matters in Yoga
Core strength is not just about aesthetics; it is about spine support. A strong core allows you to move through life with stability. In our Mayur Vihar classes, we use props—blocks, straps, and bands—to help you build that stability safely. We focus on:
- Functional Movement: Learning to engage your muscles correctly to prevent injury.
- Dynamic Flows: Moving with breath to improve stamina.
- Correct Alignment: Using hands-on adjustments so you aren't just 'doing' a pose, but mastering it.
The Practice Environment
Practicing in an air-conditioned gym space allows us to focus entirely on the movement. It is a controlled environment where you can push your limits, try a challenging arm balance, or simply hold a plank until you find your inner strength. You will learn to hold balances, correct your alignment through my guidance, and eventually, discover that your body is capable of much more than you thought. Come join our group and let us build that strength together.
