Student Progress: Real Yoga Journeys in Gunjur
Yoga is not about hitting the perfect pose on day one. It is about the small steps you take every day to build strength, mobility, and confidence. Here, we celebrate the journey of consistent practice, from the first time you try to the moment you fly.
Dhruti struggled and got distracted, but she never gave up on her dropback. Watching her finally achieve it was a huge milestone and a proud moment for both of us.
This is Chinmayee's Chakrasana (Wheel Pose) journey over four weeks. We went from full assistance to her lifting up all by herself, proving what consistency and courage can achieve.
A year ago, I planted a seed when I started my classes at SJR. Today, I am watching it bloom in every student's practice, growth, and confidence.
About this collection
Progress here happens through discipline and the right support. Whether it is mastering a dropback or holding a steady Chakrasana, we use specific props like wall ropes, wooden bricks, and chairs to break down complex movements into safe, manageable steps. You do not need to be flexible to start, you just need to show up.
How We Build Strength
Yoga is a journey of small, consistent actions that lead to big changes. My studio on Varthur Main Road is built on the belief that anyone can improve if they are given the right tools and a little push. We don't chase perfect poses. Instead, we focus on understanding your own anatomy—learning how your muscles engage and how your joints move.
The Role of Props
Many students walk in worried about what they cannot do. This is where our props come in. Using ropes for alignment or blocks for support isn't a shortcut; it is a way to ensure every child and adult can practice safely, regardless of their current mobility. These props allow you to hold a pose long enough to build real muscle memory and strength, which eventually lets you move into more advanced work like inversions or deeper backbends.
Consistency Over Perfection
I often tell my students, 'Shashi ki daant bhi hai, pyaar bhi' (Shashi has both scolding and love). This is true. I will push you to correct your alignment, but I am also the first to celebrate when you finally bridge the gap between hesitation and execution. Whether you are dealing with a hunchback, looking for better posture, or working through challenges, the goal remains the same: steady, safe, and measurable progress. We track your milestones, from your first week on the mat to your first unassisted pose, because those are the wins that actually matter.
Shashi Prabha Dwivedi
Hi, I’m Shashi. I’m the one who will push you, maybe scold you a little, but I’m always in your corner. My goal isn't just to make you a yogi—it's to help you find the strength that was always hiding under the surface.
