Structured Yoga Workshops and Textual Studies
We believe yoga is a logical process, not just physical exercise. Our workshops and courses provide a systematic path, from foundational biomechanics to deep dives into ancient texts, designed for students who want to move beyond the surface.
This video provides an overview of my Fundamental to Yoga Workshop. It is a mandatory two-day session for everyone joining my classes, designed to ensure all students, from beginners to teachers, share the same foundational understanding of biomechanics and yoga philosophy.

About Structured Learning: Workshops & Courses
Before joining any of our regular group classes, we require the two-day Fundamentals of Yoga Workshop. This is not a standard orientation; it is a critical technical reset where we align on the biomechanics, terminology, and philosophical framework used in our studio. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced teacher, this workshop ensures you enter your practice with the same logical foundation we use.
A Systematic Approach to Yoga
We structure our learning path to mirror the progressive nature of yoga itself. We do not offer quick-fix solutions. Instead, we break down complex concepts into manageable modules, ensuring you understand the 'why' before you practice the 'how'.
The Fundamentals Workshop
This is the mandatory entry point for our studio. Over two days, we cover:
- Biomechanics: Understanding how your body moves and the science of alignment to prevent injury.
- Yoga Philosophy: Moving past the physical to understand the role of mindfulness and meditation.
- Integration: Learning the cues and terminology that allow you to transition seamlessly into our ongoing classes.
Textual Immersion: The Upanishad Series
For those ready to explore the theoretical roots of the practice, we host in-depth courses on foundational texts like the Dhyanabindu Upanishad and the Yoga Taravali. These are not merely lectures; they are academic deep dives where we:
- Break down Sanskrit verses into accessible English.
- Discuss the application of these teachings in modern life.
- Analyze the logical connection between breathwork (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana).
Flexible Learning Options
We understand that serious practice requires consistency, regardless of your location. While we strongly encourage in-person learning for hands-on correction, many of our textual immersion courses are available online with long-term access to recordings. This allows you to revisit difficult concepts and practice at your own pace without sacrificing the depth of the teaching.
