Prop-Based Therapeutic Yoga for Alignment and Strength
Think props are for beginners? Arre nahi. Here, we use wall ropes, chairs, and wheels as precision tools to heal your body and build real, functional strength safely.
Defy gravity and find your strength with Rope and Aerial Yoga at our Defence Colony studio. These props are amazing tools for decompressing the spine, building upper body strength, and exploring inversions safely.
Let's do this with me. Our aerial and rope yoga classes are a unique experience. Here, we use the support of the ropes and silks to achieve deeper stretches and challenging poses, making the practice both fun and therapeutic.
Yoga is for everyone. In our regular classes, we use props like these aerial silks to help students of all ages and skill levels achieve deeper stretches and see faster results. The support of the prop makes inversions and other poses more accessible.
A glimpse into our rope and aerial yoga classes. These practices are not just about flying, they are about using the props to assist in alignment, build core strength, and add a dynamic element to your yoga journey.
The wall is one of the best props in yoga. Here is a look at our Wall Yoga Flow, where we use the wall for support to improve alignment, enhance balance, and safely deepen stretches. It's a fantastic way to build core and upper body strength.
Another look at our Wall Yoga class in Defence Colony. Using the wall as a prop allows the body to relax into poses, helping to release deep-seated tension and improve flexibility in a supported way.
Find your balance and open your heart with Wheel Yoga. The yoga wheel is an incredible tool for deepening backbends, strengthening the core, and improving balance. Let the circle guide your flow.
Elevate your practice with the power of a simple prop. This Brick Yoga Flow shows how a yoga block can enhance alignment, improve stability, and help you deepen your stretches. A small prop can have a big impact.
Here, we are using Iyengar props, specifically a chair, to assist in a deep backbend. This method allows for a safe and supported opening of the spine, making advanced postures accessible and therapeutic.
In our Yoga Teacher Training course, we explore the power of props in depth. Using a belt is a game-changer for refining alignment and safely increasing flexibility. Props are not just for beginners, they are for everyone.
About Our Prop-Based Yoga Studio
If you think yoga props are just 'extra support' or for people who aren't flexible, you are missing the real magic. In my studio, we use wall ropes, yoga chairs, and aerial silks as precision tools to reach deep muscles that standard asanas cannot touch. This isn't about 'perfect' poses; it is about correcting your alignment to heal chronic pain while keeping you safe, whether you are dealing with a bad back or stiff knees.
Not Just 'Doing' Yoga, But Healing With It
Most classes throw you into a flow and expect you to keep up. That is not how we do things in Defence Colony. When you walk into our studio, we look at your body, not just the clock.
We use props like Wall Ropes (Kurunta) to create traction for the spine, which is a lifesaver if you have been sitting at a desk all day. We use Yoga Chairs to make backbends accessible and safe, and Aerial Silks to help you find your range of motion without straining your joints.
Why Props Matter:
- Alignment, Not Strain: Props help you find the correct pose without compensating with bad posture.
- Injury Recovery: If you have an injury or chronic pain, props allow you to move safely and build strength where you previously felt weak.
- Accessible to Everyone: Whether you are a senior, recovering from surgery, or a complete beginner, props level the playing field.
My Philosophy
I started this journey to fix the problem of 'one-size-fits-all' yoga. You shouldn't have to force your body into a shape; we use props to bring the shape to your body. My batches are small—limited to 8-10 students—so I can personally see how you are using your props and correct your alignment. No getting lost in a crowd here. Come by, pick up a strap or a block, and see how much your body can do when it is properly supported.
Yoga Fettle Journey
I'm Amanpreet, and I created this space for real bodies—stiff, injured, or simply tired of the standard 'gym-style' yoga. My team and I believe that if you can breathe, you can do yoga. We use props to make sure every pose is safe, effective, and tailored exactly to what your body needs today.
