Props are not a crutch, they are the bridge between your current ability and your goals. From yoga wheels to wall ropes, here is how we use tools to help you deepen your practice safely.

Who says leg day is only for the gym? We use yoga blocks for wall sits to build serious endurance and strength in the legs, adding a fun challenge to the practice.

Our back-bending chairs are a game-changer for spinal flexibility. We provide hands-on adjustments to ensure you are opening your back safely and effectively.

Practice is the only shortcut. Here, we use a chair to assist a student in a deep forward bend, demonstrating our philosophy of using props to make progress safely and consistently.

With the help of a strap and personalized guidance, this student is working on opening his shoulders and deepening his backbend. This is how we build flexibility with 'Jazba' (passion).

This sequence shows how we use props to break down a complex pose. By practicing with a chair and blocks, you can build the strength and flexibility needed for the final asana. Practice, practice, practice.

A partner and a block can provide the support needed for a deep Prasarita Padottanasana. This assisted stretch helps to safely increase hamstring and spine flexibility.

This video shows an advanced backbend using a chair for support. This technique allows for a deep opening of the thoracic spine while keeping the lower back safe.

Age is just a number when you have dedication. This student uses a yoga wheel and block to work on core strength and balance, proving that regular practice brings amazing results.

We use chairs to help students achieve poses like the full cobra (Bhujangasana). This prop provides support and allows for a deeper, more controlled backbend.

You are as young as your spine is flexible. We use chairs and hands-on adjustments to guide students into advanced backbends, improving mobility and posture.

About Props for Progress: Supported Alignment

If you are struggling to reach that full backbend or deep forward fold, you are not failing, you are simply missing the right tool. In my studio, we do not force progress. We use metal chairs for spinal traction, blocks to lengthen your reach, and wall ropes for deep joint opening. This approach helps you hold poses longer and align better, letting gravity and support do the heavy lifting while you focus on your breath.

Why Props Change Your Practice

Many students think using a block or a strap means they aren't 'doing' yoga properly. That is the opposite of the truth. When you use a prop to find the correct alignment, you prevent injury and open up space in your body that stiffness usually blocks.

Our Prop-Based Approach

  • Chair Yoga for Traction: We use sturdy metal chairs to support your back during deep bends. This takes the pressure off the lower lumbar region, allowing you to focus on thoracic spine mobility.
  • Wall Ropes (Kurunta): A classic method we use here in our Delhi studios. Ropes provide traction that your own hands simply cannot, letting you decompress the spine while hanging securely.
  • Yoga Wheels: These are not just for photos. We use them to safely move into backbends, providing a stable, curved surface that supports your spine through the entire range of motion.

The 'Practice, Practice, Practice' Philosophy

My teaching is simple: Ekam, dve, trini... we count, we breathe, and we use tools to sustain that rhythm. Consistency is better than perfection. If you are a beginner scared of jumping into poses or an advanced practitioner looking to refine your technique, these tools will help you find depth without the strain.

Come for a session. Bring your jazba (passion), and we will handle the alignment.

I see yoga as something alive that moves with you, which is why I never want a student to feel stuck. At my shala, we laugh, we use props to make the impossible feel achievable, and we always stay true to the traditional count.
