Youth and Community Yoga: Inspiring Healthy Habits
I believe yoga should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age. Whether it is playful laughing yoga for kids or community sessions, I love helping the next generation build strength and focus naturally.
A quick 15-minute yoga session with the kids in my village. Yoga helps them improve flexibility, enhance concentration, and learn to manage stress from a young age.
Guiding the children through Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) while chanting the 12 mantras. It's beautiful to see them connect with this ancient and powerful practice.
Teaching the children to chant the Gayatri Mantra. This powerful mantra helps calm the mind, improve focus, and foster a sense of inner peace.
My students enjoying different forms of yoga, including Kagasana (Crow Pose), clapping yoga, and laughing yoga. Keeping it fun is the best way to keep them engaged!
The kids taking on a split challenge! Their enthusiasm and dedication are truly inspiring. This is my little army of yogis, and I'm so proud of their progress.
About Inspiring the Next Generation: Youth & Community Yoga
Kids learn differently, and my sessions reflect that—a mix of Kagasana, laughing yoga, and Gayatri Mantra chanting to build focus, calm, and discipline. I focus on creating habits that last, teaching them that yoga is a tool to handle life’s challenges, not just a set of poses to perfect. If you want to bring this kind of energy and scientific approach to your school or community group, let's connect and design a session that actually resonates with them.
My passion for youth and community yoga stems from my belief that the seeds of a healthy life should be sown early. In my '100 Yoga Divas' challenge, I have been coaching children in my village daily, proving that you do not need fancy equipment or expensive studios to start. We use whatever space is available—under trees or in open ground—to practice Surya Namaskar and various asanas.
My approach for kids is simple: keep it fun, keep it engaging, and keep it meaningful. We incorporate clapping yoga and laughing yoga to release stress, which is just as important for kids today as it is for adults. At the same time, I teach them the Gayatri Mantra, not just for the ritual, but to help them find focus and calmness in their daily lives.
For schools and community organizations, I bring this same methodology. We don't just go through the motions; we discuss the 'why' behind the poses. Drawing from my training at AIIMS and MDNIY, I explain how simple breathing techniques like Bhramari can help them during exam stress or social pressure. Whether you are hosting an International Yoga Day event, a school workshop, or a community health camp in Delhi NCR or Bengaluru, I am happy to design a session that is inclusive, safe, and truly beneficial for your group.
