Practical Self-Defense Techniques for Street Survival

Stop relying on fancy movie moves. Learn real-world defense techniques that work when you have only seconds to react in the streets of Mumbai.

A common street-fight scenario is the collar grab. I teach a simple Judo technique, Kata Jujime, to break free and control the situation without needing to throw a single punch. It is all about leverage and technique.

When an attacker grabs you, wasting energy trying to pull away is a mistake. I demonstrate how to block a potential punch and use the attacker's own position against them for a quick takedown.

This is a 'ghee choke' or lapel choke, a very effective technique when someone grabs your collar. I show how to use their own shirt against them to apply pressure and end the confrontation safely.

Here I demonstrate how to counter a grab by turning it into a takedown. This move uses the opponent's momentum against them, putting you in a dominant position on the ground.

You don't need a weapon when you know how to use what you have. In this demonstration, I show how to use a simple handkerchief for a 'cloth choke' to safely neutralize a threat without causing serious injury. This is a key part of my practical self-defense training for corporate teams.

If you don't have a handkerchief, your own t-shirt can become a tool for self-defense. This video shows another variation of the cloth choke, proving that resourcefulness is your best weapon in a street fight.

About this collection

Most people waste energy fighting for control, which is the biggest mistake you can make on the street. I teach simple techniques, like the 'Ghee choke' using your own clothing, that require zero punching power and rely entirely on leverage. If someone grabs your collar in a crowded Mumbai street, you don't need to panic; you just need to know exactly where to apply pressure to end the threat in six seconds.

Reality vs. Movies

In a real street situation, you don't have time to posture or look for a perfect stance. You have seconds. My training focuses on what I call 'Street Survival'—neutralizing a threat without unnecessary violence. Whether you are dealing with a grab in a parking lot or harassment in an elevator, the goal is always the same: get home safe. No cuts, no blood, no drama.

Why Technique Beats Power

I see so many students trying to muscle their way out of a grip. Theek hai? That is wrong. If the attacker is stronger than you, you will lose. We use anatomy. By targeting vital points—the eyes, the nose, the groin, the solar plexus—you gain an advantage regardless of your size or fitness level. We practice using everyday items: your keys, a pen, or even just your t-shirt (the 'cloth choke' technique). These are not 'martial arts moves'; these are survival skills.

Training Philosophy

I have been running my dojos across Mumbai—from Andheri to Khar West—since 2001. I don't teach students to look like champions; I teach them to be resilient. My corporate workshops are designed to be practical, focusing on situational awareness and quick responses. When you train with me, we don't just work on muscles; we work on the mindset that keeps you calm when things go wrong.

What You Will Learn

  • Situational Defense: How to break free from collar grabs, wrist grabs, and hair pulls.
  • Vital Point Education: Theory on anatomy vulnerabilities.
  • Accessory Utilization: Using office IDs, pens, and clothing as defensive tools.
  • Scenario Drills: Elevator harassment and attacks from behind.

I have been running my dojos in Mumbai since 2001, teaching people that martial arts is about discipline and safety, not just fighting. Whether you are a corporate professional or a student, I teach you how to handle real-life threats with simple, effective movements.
