Yoga Therapy and Alignment-Focused Practice
A look at my approach: prioritizing conscious breath, spinal health, and prop-assisted alignment to ensure every pose supports your body’s unique needs.
My teaching always comes back to the breath. I guide you on how to sync every movement with your inhales and exhales, because correct breathing is the foundation of true yoga. When you learn to breathe consciously, the energy flows correctly.
We use tools like the rope wall to help you build functional strength and face your fears in a supported way. This is not about just muscles, but about discovering the inner power you already possess through challenging and unique yoga practices.
I provide hands-on adjustments to ensure your alignment is safe and effective. Here, I am helping a student deepen their hamstring stretch using a yoga strap, which allows for a better release without straining the body. Your practice should fit your body, not the other way around.
Understanding the 'why' is crucial. I explain the difference between a simple seated pose (Sukhasana) and the Lotus Pose (Padmasana) to show how a straight spine is essential for meditation, allowing your life force energy, or prana, to flow upwards without getting stuck.
This is a glimpse into our practice of Bhramari Pranayama, or the Bee Breath. This calming breathing technique involves creating a gentle humming sound to quiet the mind, reduce anxiety, and prepare the body for deep relaxation and better sleep.
My classes are for everyone, regardless of flexibility. We often use props like chairs to make poses accessible, allowing you to get the full benefit of a stretch, like this forward bend, without compromising your form or safety.
This is the Purna Matsyendrasana, or full spinal twist. It's an advanced posture that deeply detoxifies the internal organs and improves the health of your spine. It’s a powerful way to release tension and balance your body’s energies.
We incorporate props like stability balls to engage the core in a mindful way. This is more than just an ab workout; it's about finding your center and building stability from within, which is essential for both physical and mental balance.
About Featured
Many believe yoga is about extreme flexibility, but that is a mistake. At my Vile Parle studio, we use props like rope walls and wooden bricks because correct spinal alignment matters more than stretching deep. If you are hunching your back, your energy flow is blocked. My sessions are built to unblock that flow through precise posture corrections and diaphragmatic breathing.
I do not believe in one-size-fits-all yoga. My method is a pause-and-correct style, meaning we do not rush from one pose to the next just to get a workout. Whether you are in a group class or a private session, we prioritize structural alignment over ambition.
Why Props Are Essential
Many students feel hesitant using blocks, straps, or the rope wall. There is no shame in using support; it is the only way to get the real benefits of an asana without risk of injury. My studio in Vile Parle is equipped with specialized tools that allow me to guide you into postures that your current mobility might not allow otherwise.
Therapeutic Focus
Beyond general fitness, I focus on the therapeutic application of yoga:
- Breathwork: We dedicate 10 to 15 minutes per session to Pranayama, focusing on regulating the nervous system to manage anxiety and improve sleep.
- Spinal Health: Using the rope wall for traction and decompression, we work on structural corrections for issues like Spondylitis and stiffness.
- Core Stability: We use stability balls and resistance-based work to build internal strength, or the Manipura Chakra, which supports physical and mental balance.
If you are tired of generic classes that ignore your specific pain points or alignment errors, my diagnostic sessions map your history and physical needs to create a tailored therapy roadmap.
