Move, breathe, and flow as one. Our led classes—from Ashtanga to Flex & Flow—help you build rhythm, discipline, and a strong sense of community in our Greater Kailash studio.

The energy of a Led Ashtanga class is powerful. Moving together through the vinyasa count builds discipline, stamina, and a strong sense of connection with your fellow practitioners.

A glimpse from our Led class, working on inversions like Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulderstand). These classes are filled with focused energy and collective growth.

Students moving in sync during a forward fold. Led classes help refine the vinyasa count and create a beautiful, shared rhythm.

Ending our practice with Bhramari Pranayama (Bee Breath). Our led classes incorporate both asana and breathwork to calm the nervous system.

Building core strength together in Ubhaya Padangusthasana. The collective effort in a led class can be incredibly motivating.

Holding a strong Purvottanasana (Upward Plank Pose) in our group class. Each practice is a step toward discovering the power within.

The challenge of Navasana (Boat Pose) is always better together. Our led classes foster a sense of shared strength and determination.

About Led Classes: Find Your Flow

In our led sessions, we move together under the teacher’s count, which acts as a metronome for your breath. It’s not about keeping up with the person on the next mat; it’s about learning to synchronize your movement with your inhalations and exhalations, allowing the collective energy of the room to carry you through the parts of the practice where you’d normally want to stop.

Building Rhythm Through Breath

Unlike Mysore-style practice where you move at your own pace, our Led classes—including Led Ashtanga, Hatha, and Flex & Flow—bring us together. When everyone in the room inhales and exhales at the same time, it creates a powerful, supportive rhythm. This is where you learn the true 'vinyasa count,' which is the sequence of breath and movement that forms the backbone of the Ashtanga lineage we teach at The Shala.

Why Join a Led Session?

  • Discipline: Following the teacher's count removes the distraction of deciding what to do next. You simply show up and let the practice unfold.
  • Energy: There is something special about the collective focus in a room full of people practicing together. It helps you stay present and often gives you the extra energy to hold that pose you usually find challenging.
  • Alignment & Foundation: We emphasize the technical side of things, ensuring you understand the mechanics of poses like Salamba Sarvangasana or Navasana. It is the perfect place to refine your form if you feel you have picked up bad habits.

What to Expect at The Shala

We keep our class sizes managed, typically under 15 students, so you don't get lost in the crowd. Whether you are coming in for our Saturday Led Primary or an evening Hatha session, the atmosphere is focused and quiet. We believe that yoga is for everybody, so you don't need to be flexible or 'ready' to start. You just need to show up. Our studio in Greater Kailash is a space to drop the masks of the daily grind and just breathe.

If you are new to the Ashtanga sequence, we recommend starting with our beginner-friendly workshops or drop-in classes to get comfortable with the rhythm before diving into a full Led Primary session.
