Yoga Practice on the Go: Finding Balance While Traveling
Yoga isn’t just for a studio mat. Whether I am exploring the landscapes of Cappadocia or trekking in the Himalayas, I find grounding in my breath. Here is how I stay connected to my practice while traveling.
Practicing Vrikshasana, or tree pose, in the otherworldly landscape of Cappadocia, Turkey. Your life is your message to the world, and I hope mine inspires you to find balance and beauty wherever you go.
A short clip of me finding my balance in Virabhadrasana III, or Warrior III, in Cappadocia. Even when traveling, a few moments of yoga help me stay connected to my body and grounded in the present.
About this collection
Travel often disrupts your routine, but I treat every new destination as a chance to deepen my practice. Even in places as different as Cappadocia, holding a pose like Vrikshasana (tree pose) helps me recalibrate after long flights or treks.
When you are on the road, your body reacts to new environments. I believe that taking just fifteen minutes to align your breath with your surroundings can shift your entire travel experience. In Cappadocia, with its open landscapes, practicing Vrikshasana felt like rooting myself into the earth while my spirit took flight. It was a reminder that you do not need a studio to maintain your discipline.
I bring this same ethos to my Himalayan Yoga & Trek Expedition. We are not just hiking; we are acclimatizing our breath to high altitudes, using pranayama (breath control) to navigate the physical demands of 13,000-foot peaks. The mountains force you to slow down, listen to your body, and breathe deeply. Whether you are looking to escape the city desk or find a deeper connection with nature, these retreats offer a space to reset your mind and body.
If you find inspiration in these moments, you might enjoy joining a group for our next trek. We keep our groups small to ensure personal adjustments and safety, especially when we reach higher altitudes. It is about sharing the joy of movement, regardless of where in the world we are.
