Traditional Yoga and Therapeutic Wellness Classes
We focus on yoga as a practical tool for daily health, blending traditional techniques with modern safety standards. From restorative sessions for chronic pain management to focused kids' batches, our Kaggadasapura studio is designed for functional wellness.
I incorporate practices like Jyoti Trataka, or candle gazing, into my sessions. This traditional technique is highly effective for improving concentration and memory, which is beneficial for both children's studies and adult mindfulness. It also strengthens the eye muscles and can help with sleep-related issues.
My restorative yoga sessions are designed for deep relaxation and healing. We use props like straps and blocks to support the body, allowing you to hold poses for longer without strain. This approach is particularly beneficial for managing stress and soothing the nervous system.
We practice specific asanas like Halasana, or Plough Pose, to target health concerns. This pose is known to help regulate the thyroid gland, manage blood pressure and diabetes, and improve circulation. I guide students safely into poses based on their individual capacity.
In some classes, we engage in partner work to build core strength and stability. This image shows students using blocks for a supported abdominal exercise, which fosters a sense of teamwork and makes the practice more engaging.
A look at one of my group batches after a fulfilling session. I believe in creating a welcoming and non-competitive space where every student can feel comfortable and supported on their personal wellness journey.
About Featured
In our sessions, you will rarely see people struggling through poses without support. We prioritize the use of props like blocks, straps, and bolsters to ensure every student, regardless of age or flexibility, can hold restorative poses safely. This prop-heavy approach is what allows us to effectively target back pain, joint stiffness, and posture issues without causing strain.
Our Approach to Traditional Yoga
Yoga is often marketed as a high-intensity workout, but at our Kaggadasapura studio, we return to its roots as a healing and balancing practice. We emphasize consistency over intensity, helping our students integrate these habits into their daily lives to manage specific health concerns.
Therapeutic and Restorative Sessions
Many of our students come to us looking for relief from chronic issues rather than a vigorous workout. We design our therapeutic sessions to:
- Improve Mobility: Using the Pawanmuktasana series to gently reduce stiffness in the knees, hips, and shoulders.
- Manage Health Conditions: Incorporating poses like Halasana to assist with blood pressure, thyroid regulation, and diabetes management. These are always guided with personal monitoring to ensure safety.
- Relieve Stress: Utilizing deep Pranayama and restorative meditation techniques to help with insomnia and anxiety.
Specialized Batches for Kids
Our evening sessions for children are structured to be both disciplined and engaging. We avoid rigid, overly competitive environments. Instead, we use practices like Jyoti Trataka (candle gazing) to improve focus, memory, and eye health, which often provides direct benefits for schoolwork. We also incorporate growth asanas to counter the physical impact of heavy school bags and daily posture issues.
Why Small Group Sizes Matter
We limit our batches to 15 students. This isn't just about comfort; it is necessary for proper alignment. Whether you are a senior needing modifications for restorative yoga or a beginner learning foundational poses, our instructors provide individual attention to ensure you are practicing safely.
