About Yoga for Kids & Seniors
Why I Do This
I’ve been teaching yoga for over 7 years because I genuinely believe it can help anyone, no matter their age. My approach is simple - use traditional yoga but keep it practical, so even kids and seniors can benefit in real ways.
For Kids - Playful Yet Mindful
Evening batches just for kids (4-5 PM) are all about making yoga fun and useful. It’s not just poses - I use things like Jyoti Trataka (candle gazing) to help with focus and memory, which honestly helps with school too.
- Kids learn to stay calm and disciplined, not just bendy.
- Sessions are lively, not too strict, so even restless kids ease into it.
- Flexibility, strength, and coordination improve - all in a space where nobody’s competing.
For Seniors - Gentle, Therapeutic, Adapted
Yoga for elders here isn’t about pushing limits. I use lots of props like blocks and straps, so you can do restorative poses safely, even with limited flexibility.
- We work on things like Halasana for BP and diabetes, but only if you’re comfortable.
- Chronic pain, stress, and sleep issues come up a lot, so I focus on those with gentle movement and meditation.
- Mindful movement for elders helps with blood circulation and vision too.
I’m not promising miracles, but these classes are genuinely about holistic wellness for all ages.

Swasthya Yoga
My Story
Namaskara, we’re Swasthya Yoga Academy. Seven years back, just a small idea, now a buzzing studio in Kaggadasapura. Our space is not fancy, but full of heart. Kids giggling in the evening, seniors stretching in the morning, sometimes partner yoga, sometimes just sitting together. We keep it real - yoga is more than bending, it’s about being mindful. We love connecting at Mysuru Yoga Utsava, always learning from S-VYASA. It’s a lifestyle, not just a class.
