Traditional Yogic Cleansing & Kriya Practices
We teach traditional Shatkriyas to clear the body and mind. From Jala Neti for sinus relief to Jyoti Trataka for concentration, these techniques are simple, effective, and deeply grounding.
A close-up view of a student practicing Jala Neti. I provide careful instruction on how to perform this nasal cleansing technique safely and effectively for maximum benefits to the respiratory system.
This student is performing the Jala Neti kriya, a saline nasal wash. This practice is excellent for clearing allergens and pollutants from the nasal passages, helping to ease breathing.
Here is another student performing Jala Neti. This traditional practice is a key part of my teaching for its powerful effects on sinus health and mental clarity.
A student correctly positioned for Jala Neti. Proper posture is important to ensure the saline solution flows correctly through the nasal passages for a thorough cleanse.
A group of students practicing the final steps of Jala Neti, which involves clearing any remaining water from the nasal passages. I ensure everyone learns the complete and correct method in my classes.
This image shows students completing the Jala Neti practice together. Group practice provides a supportive atmosphere for learning these valuable and traditional yogic techniques.
My sessions often include practices like Jyoti Trataka, or candle gazing. This traditional kriya is highly effective for improving concentration and memory, strengthening eye muscles, and promoting restful sleep by calming the mind.
About Ancient Yogic Cleansing Practices (Kriyas)
If you struggle with chronic sinus congestion or eye strain, we guide you through the Jala Neti and Jyoti Trataka techniques step-by-step. During our weekend sessions, we ensure you have the correct posture and control for a safe, effective cleanse. This is a practical skill for respiratory and visual health, not a complex ritual, and we make sure you learn the exact method to use at home.
Shatkriyas are foundational practices in our studio in Kaggadasapura. They are not about performance or flexibility, but about cleaning the system from the inside out. When you join our weekend sessions, we focus on two core practices that address common modern complaints.
Jala Neti is a nasal irrigation technique using a saline solution. It is highly effective for clearing pollutants, allergens, and mucus from the nasal passages. Many of our students use it to manage recurring sinus issues or to improve breathing patterns. We teach you the exact posture required to allow the water to flow through the nasal cavity correctly, ensuring the process is comfortable and irritation-free.
Jyoti Trataka, or candle gazing, is our primary method for mental clarity and eye health. By fixing your gaze on a steady flame, you quiet the mind and strengthen the eye muscles. We see many students who spend hours in front of screens find this practice helps them reduce eye fatigue, improve concentration, and even prepare the nervous system for better sleep.
These practices are simple to learn but require precision to be effective. We do not just demonstrate; we observe your technique during the session to provide corrections. Whether you are coming in to manage a specific health condition or simply want to add a cleansing routine to your lifestyle, these sessions are designed to be accessible for all ages and fitness levels. We keep our group sizes small so that you get the attention you need to master these skills safely.
