About Workshops for Teens & Young Adults
We combine physical activity like bouldering with small group circles because sitting in a classroom is rarely how young adults process complex emotions. Our 90-minute workshops, limited to 12 participants, pair a lead coach with a guest expert to facilitate honest discussions on body image, academic pressure, and social media stress while ensuring every teen has the space to be heard.
Adolescence brings a unique set of challenges that standard schooling rarely addresses. At Svadhyaya, we approach emotional resilience not as a checklist of coping mechanisms, but as a practice of self-awareness and connection.
How We Facilitate Growth
Our workshops are intentionally small, creating a safe environment where teens can lower their guard. We use the bouldering wall not just for climbing, but as a physical metaphor for trust and problem-solving. When a teen works through a route on the wall, they are practicing focus and perseverance, which we then bridge into discussions about real-life hurdles like peer pressure or transitional life phases.
What Happens in a Session
- Peer-led exploration: We moderate conversations, but the teens drive the depth. We don't preach answers; we ask questions that help them find their own perspective.
- Physical engagement: Movement is integrated to help regulate the nervous system and build confidence.
- Tangible tools: Participants receive anxiety management toolkits and journals to carry the practice home.
- Parental alignment: We provide a short verbal debrief on group dynamics to parents, ensuring the support continues outside our center.
