Handcrafted Pottery Workshops and Studio Services
From beginner-friendly hand-building workshops to professional co-working spaces, discover a place in Mumbai where you can practice the art of pottery.
This is the moment of transformation. Inside the kiln, intense heat turns soft clay into lasting ceramic. This raw, fiery process is at the heart of everything we do here.
There is a unique therapy in the rhythm of the wheel. This video shows the focus and calm that comes from shaping clay, a process of centering both the material and yourself.
Raku means 'enjoyment'. In this video, I explain the philosophy behind this Japanese firing technique, where we work with the five elements to create pieces with unique, unpredictable beauty.
It all starts with an idea. Here, a student in our workshop is carefully hand-building a small cup, adding personal details. Our studio is a place to bring your own creativity to life, no matter how simple or complex.
We believe in learning from masters. This is a glimpse from a demonstration by renowned Japanese artist Kazuya Ishida at our studio, where he shared his Bizen-style pottery techniques with our community.
After the first firing, the pieces are ready for the next stage. This is a look at the variety of forms, from wheel-thrown bowls to sculptural objects, created by our members and workshop participants, all waiting for glazing.
Our studio is a community, and we celebrate together. This was during our Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, a time of food, conversation, and shared joy among our artists and friends.
I believe practice is everything. Like classical musicians do 'riyaaz', a potter must practice until the skill is second nature. Only then does your true style emerge, a signature that needs no name.
About Featured
Learning pottery is a commitment to the process, not just the product. When you create at our studio, we ensure your pieces get the care they need through our professional bisque and glaze firing services, which usually take 3 to 4 weeks to complete. Whether you are throwing on the wheel or hand-building, we provide the tools and space you need to focus on your craft.
A Space for Your Riyaaz
Pottery is more than just making objects. It is 'riyaaz'—a continuous practice that helps you find your identity. Our studio in Byculla is designed as a creative adda (hangout) for everyone, from beginners touching clay for the first time to professionals needing an open space to work.
Our Workshops and Services
We offer a range of ways to engage with clay:
- Guided Workshops: Try wheel throwing, hand-building, or Japanese Raku firing. We handle all materials and the technical finishing.
- Co-working Membership: For independent potters who have mastered the basics. Get access to electric wheels, slab rollers, and dedicated shelf space during our operating hours.
- Firing Services: We offer pay-per-weight bisque and glaze firing in our electric kilns. We load and unload your pieces to ensure they are fired to the correct maturity temperature.
Why Choose Us
We believe in a real, hands-on environment. Our studio is not about shortcuts; it is about learning the traditional and modern techniques that make pottery a sustainable skill. We frequently host masterclasses with visiting artists to keep the community learning and growing.
Whether you are joining us for a Ganesh idol workshop or looking to rent wheel time for your own projects, you are entering a space that values process over quick results. If you are serious about clay, you will find your rhythm here.
