My Journey into Classical Hatha Yoga
Namaskaram. I believe it is important to know who guides your practice. This is how a search for fitness became a lifelong path of Isha Hatha Yoga.
Namaskaram. My name is Ishan. My own journey with yoga began with a desire for physical fitness but soon unfolded into a profound inner experience. This led me to the Isha Yoga Center for the intensive 1750-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training. It is now my privilege to be empowered by Sadhguru to offer these powerful, classical yogic tools to you.
About My Journey into Hatha Yoga
When I first started, I was looking for fitness, much like anyone joining a gym. But after experiencing the impact of Angamardana on my own system, I realized that Hatha Yoga is not about flexibility or a workout. It is a precise, scientific method to create space between you and your mind. I teach because I want you to experience that same internal clarity, without the distraction of music or props.
From Fitness to a Way of Life
Many people come to me looking for a way to get fit or fix a back issue. That was my starting point as well. However, the depth of Hatha Yoga is far beyond the physical. My journey led me to the Isha Yoga Center, where I underwent 1750 hours of intensive Hatha Yoga teacher training. It was not just learning postures; it was a rigorous process of becoming a vessel for a science that has been passed down for thousands of years.
Why I Teach the Classical Way
When you join a session with me, you will notice something different immediately:
- No Music: We focus on the internal sound and the body, not external beats.
- No Props: The body is designed to move and align on its own. We rely on the intelligence of the system, not external aids.
- Precision: The alignment in practices like Surya Kriya or Angamardana is specific. This is not about 'doing' yoga; it is about 'enabling' your body to function at its highest potential.
What You Can Expect
I offer these tools exactly as I learned them. Whether you are looking for Surya Kriya to balance your system, or specific Hatha programs to build strength and stability, my role is to ensure the practice is transmitted with integrity. If you are ready to stop treating yoga as an exercise and start using it as a tool for transformation, let us begin.
