Classical Hatha Yoga: A Journey of Transformation
I was a chartered accountant until a different kind of balance changed my life. My practice isn't about flexibility or fitness; it is about precision, alignment, and an inner shift. This is my approach to Classical Hatha Yoga.
This is the story of Dev, who found his way back to himself through Isha Hatha Yoga. He lost 22 kgs in two months, but more importantly, he lost the weight of depression, stress, and anger. His journey is a powerful reminder of what is possible when you commit to your practice.
If you've learned your Isha practices but find it hard to stay consistent, this is for you. My 21-day online program is designed to provide the structure and community support you need to make your sadhana a non-negotiable part of your morning. We practice together, live, every day.
People often tell me, "ab tum ban kar nahi rehti" (you don't dress up anymore). They are right. I used to be a Chartered Accountant, living a life of logic. Now, I find myself by closing my eyes, not by looking in a mirror. This video shows a little of that shift from my old life to this one.
I had been to Rishikesh before, but only after starting my practices did I truly experience its energy. This is what yoga does; it doesn't just change your body, it enhances your very perception of life. This is the grace of Sadhguru at work, allowing you to experience the world with a new depth.
The most common question I hear is, "How do I find time for yoga?" As Sadhguru says, it's not about finding a separate time for spirituality. It's about making every moment of your life, whether at work or with family, a part of your spiritual process.
You are never walking this path alone. A crucial part of the journey is the *sangha*, or the community you keep. Here we are, my Hatha Yoga batchmates, a group of joyful faces at the Isha Yoga Center. This is the kind of supportive company that makes the path easier.
The small details of your practice matter. Here, I share three simple but crucial things to look for when choosing a yoga mat. It should be anti-skid, made from natural fiber to keep you connected to the earth, and easy to maintain for daily use.
About Featured
I teach Classical Hatha Yoga exactly as it is mandated by the Isha school—without props, ropes, or music. Whether we are working on Surya Kriya or Bhuta Shuddhi, my focus is on teaching you the geometry of your body so you can practice independently. My goal is not to have you dependent on a teacher, but to equip you with the technical understanding to maintain a home sadhana that actually sticks.
Why I Teach This Way
My path to yoga wasn't through a fitness studio; it was through a desire to understand my own nature. Before I became a teacher, I was a CA. My world was defined by numbers and logic. When I say that these practices changed my life, I mean they changed my perception of how I function in the world.
The 21-Day Cohort Structure
Motivation is fleeting, which is why I run 21-day online cohorts. We meet early in the morning—subah-subah—to practice together. This structure provides the external discipline needed to turn a 'habit' into a 'sadhana'.
- Daily Guided Sessions: 40 minutes of live, consistent practice.
- Technical Accuracy: I don't dilute the techniques. If a posture requires specific alignment, we correct it until it is right.
- Ayurvedic Support: We integrate simple diet and lifestyle shifts, such as understanding Pranic foods and how to choose natural fibers for your space.
Can You Practice at Home?
Yes, and that is the objective. Many people attend workshops and then stop because they lose the 'how' or the 'why' of the practice. My role is to bridge that gap. If you are struggling with a chatter-filled mind, stiffness, or simply consistency, we tackle that head-on. I don't offer shortcuts or quick fixes. I offer the Classical Hatha Yoga tools that allow you to become your own master.

I used to look for myself in the mirror; now I close my eyes. My transition from a corporate CA life to the ashram wasn't planned, but it was necessary. I simply teach the practices that brought me back to myself.
