A curated selection of my work that defines the intersection of bold contemporary design and honest, soulful living. These projects showcase how light, materiality, and spatial narrative come together.

This dusk view of the Ashraya Residence captures the dynamic interplay of cantilevered forms, warm lighting, and natural materials. My design philosophy is embodied here, creating a modern structure that feels both monumental and intimately connected to its surroundings.

The heart of the Ashraya Residence is this double-height courtyard, where a 28-foot painting of Lord Krishna becomes a spiritual and visual anchor. The space is a modern interpretation of the traditional Indian 'aangan', filled with light, art, and life.

The façade of the House of Dancing Screens features these kinetic terracotta jaalis. More than just an aesthetic element, these screens pivot to control light and privacy, allowing the home to breathe and respond to the environment and the family's needs.

In the Gupta Residence, I integrated this tranquil indoor waterbody beneath a floating wooden staircase. This feature brings a sense of calm and nature into the core of the home, combining natural elements with contemporary architectural sophistication.

The Slender House, built on a challenging 13-foot-wide plot in Delhi, showcases my approach to compact urban living. The façade's soft curves and material textures create a unique identity, proving that thoughtful design can create expansive experiences within tight constraints.

The Sachdeva Farmhouse is designed as a luxurious retreat, organized around a central pool. The double-height glazed façade reflects the glowing interiors at twilight, blurring the lines between the architecture and the surrounding landscape to create a resort-like sanctuary.

This bathroom in the House of Dancing Screens is a study in modern glamour. The freestanding bathtub, dramatic chandelier, and interplay of black marble and brass detailing create a personal spa that is both luxurious and deeply personal.

About this collection

Every project in this collection begins with a hand-drawn sketch, not a digital model. It is in those messy, initial lines that we define a home's soul, whether we are navigating a narrow 13-foot urban plot or designing a sprawling estate. When we begin a project, we start there—sketching ideas to see how they breathe before a single brick is laid.

My practice is grounded in the belief that design should provoke feeling. In the Ashraya Residence, we utilized a double-height courtyard and a central art piece to create a spiritual anchor, demonstrating that a home's volume is as significant as its square footage. At the House of Dancing Screens, we experimented with kinetic terracotta jaalis—not merely for aesthetic drama, but to actively manage light and privacy based on the sun path.

These projects illustrate how we handle constraints, such as the 13-foot-wide plot of the Slender House, as opportunities for innovation rather than limitations. My team and I prioritize cross-ventilation, the interplay of light and shadow, and the seamless integration of art into the built environment. Whether it is a contemporary urban residence in Delhi or a sprawling farmhouse retreat, our focus remains on honest craft, tactile materiality, and the narrative of the space. We aim to create architecture that is not just a structure, but a lived-in story of the families who occupy it.

I founded Spaces Architects @KA on the simple belief that architecture is a spatial story, not just construction. I stay personally involved from the first messy sketch to the final site visit, ensuring every home we build feels like an extension of the people who live there.
