I transform compact city plots into light-filled, open sanctuaries. My designs for urban residences focus on maximizing spatial flow and privacy, creating homes that feel expansive despite the density of the city.

The Screen House façade is a composition of open and screened volumes. The design uses a prominent wooden jaali to provide privacy for the double-height living area while allowing light to filter through, creating a dynamic and modern urban statement.

The Screen House at dusk reveals its layered design. The illuminated interiors of the living and bedroom spaces are visible through the intricate screens and large glazing, showcasing a home that balances transparency with the need for privacy in a dense urban setting.

The Screen House is structured across four levels, with the stilt floor designed as an entertainment hub. This evening view shows the seamless blend of leisure spaces with the home's primary residential functions, all visible through the open façade.

The Gupta Residence in Punjabi Bagh is designed for three generations. The elevation is a composition of interlocking blocks, creating multiple terraces that encourage outdoor interaction and optimize natural light on the north-west facing site.

This video illustrates the design evolution of J House, a contemporary weekend home in Delhi. It shows the journey from initial elevation drawings and sketches to the final built façade, highlighting the angular roof form and layered volumes.

The elevation of J House is shaped by its interior functions, with carved-out blocks forming sheltered terraces. An abstract cantilevered roof in warm wood tones crowns the façade, giving it a bold and contemporary character.

The Kavyam Residence, built on a compact 168 sqm plot, fuses contemporary design with traditional Indian elements. The façade at night reveals a complex interplay of light, texture, and materials, including brick jaali, wood, and a tensile roof.

For this Gurgaon apartment makeover, I reimagined the space with an open floor plan and a neutral grey palette accented by pops of yellow and blue. The result is a stylish, contemporary home perfectly suited for modern urban living.

The Grey Apartment project began by removing internal walls to create a seamless flow. This view shows the newly connected dining, kitchen, and transition areas, which enhances spatial continuity and makes the 1500 sq. ft. apartment feel much larger.

By removing unnecessary partitions in the Grey Apartment, the living room now flows effortlessly into adjacent areas. A geometric feature wall and slatted wood ceiling guide the eye, creating a sense of openness and volume.

About Contemporary Urban Homes

Designing on a 168 sqm plot, as seen in the Kavyam Residence, teaches you that spatial comfort is not determined by square footage but by how you manipulate light and volume. The core challenge in urban environments is creating a sense of openness without compromising the privacy of your family. By using layered façades, such as brick jaalis or kinetic screens, we can filter harsh city light and street views, turning your home into a quiet retreat that feels disconnected from the bustle outside while remaining deeply engaged with the rhythm of the city.
