Moments of Joy & Celebration at Soham Ayur Yoga Ashram
Yoga here is a life, not just a class. While our practice is deep and disciplined, our ashram is also filled with laughter, shared meals, and the vibrant color of celebration.
The pure joy of celebrating Holi, the festival of colors. Here, we let go of inhibitions, reconnect with our inner child, and paint our hearts with love and laughter.

A moment of pure fun and silliness after a long day of practice. Laughter is a powerful form of release and a beautiful way to bond as a community.

During Holi, I share a playful moment with a student. These celebrations break down barriers and remind us that we are all connected in a spirit of joy and togetherness.

A friendly Bakasana (Crow Pose) challenge in the shala. A little healthy competition and a lot of laughter make our practice sessions dynamic and fun. Watch to see who the champion is.
Dancing is a celebration of life. We often break into spontaneous dance sessions, allowing the music to move us and shake off any stagnant energy.
About Moments of Joy & Celebration
We don't keep the ashram silent just for the sake of it; we use play—like festival celebrations or spontaneous group activities—as a tool for release. These aren't distractions from your training, but a vital part of it. When you let your guard down and laugh during a challenging Asana practice or a Holi gathering, you release the stress and mental blocks that often prevent you from truly connecting with the yoga philosophy we teach.
Many people view an ashram stay as purely austere, but we believe that true spiritual growth needs space for joy. When we celebrate festivals like Holi or break into spontaneous dance, we aren't just having fun—we are practicing non-attachment and emotional release.
Our residential programs are immersive. Living in community for 25 days, sharing sattvic meals, and practicing together builds a bond that goes beyond the classroom. Whether it’s a friendly Bakasana (Crow Pose) challenge that brings the shala to life with laughter, or simply walking through our mango groves between sessions, these moments of connection are where our students truly relax.
This joy is a vital part of our philosophy. By lowering our defenses and finding community, we become more receptive to the deeper teachings of meditation and pranayama. If you are looking for an internationally certified yoga teacher training in Bangalore that values both disciplined study and the simple, human experience of connection, you will find it here.
