Spirituality and Rituals in Yoga
Yoga is a work in, not a workout. Beyond the asanas, we dive into meditation, pranayama, and sacred rituals to help you find your true center.
A student participates in a lamp lighting ceremony, a beautiful ritual symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the welcoming of knowledge. Each flame represents the inner light we seek to awaken through our practice.

This video captures moments of our spiritual practice in nature. From connecting with trees to group meditation and pranayama, we learn that the divine is present everywhere. Yoga is the practice of seeing it.
We celebrate Ramanavami with a traditional puja, offering flowers and fruits to honor the divine. These ceremonies are a vital part of ashram life, filling our space with devotion and gratitude.

A fire ceremony (Homa) in our shala. The fire represents transformation, and as we chant mantras, we offer our limitations and attachments to be consumed by the flames, making space for spiritual growth.
About Beyond the Mat: Spirituality & Ritual
We practice daily morning rituals and fire ceremonies (Homa) in our open-air shala to clear the mind before starting physical training. These are not just traditions but practical tools we use to release tension and prepare the body for deeper meditation sessions.
The Daily Rituals of Our Ashram
In our daily life here, we focus on the practices that happen away from the yoga mat. Each morning begins at 5 AM with a Puja, a ritual of offering that helps ground your energy for the day ahead. You will participate in Homa fire ceremonies where we offer our limitations into the flames, a practice that shifts your perspective from the physical body to the spiritual core.
Beyond the Asanas
Our curriculum integrates Pranayama and meditation deeply into the daily schedule. We teach you Bhramari Pranayama (Bee Breath) to soothe your nervous system and guide you through silent sittings that move you toward stillness. Whether you are a beginner or looking to deepen your existing practice, these rituals provide a structured way to confront your thoughts rather than running from them.
Why This Matters
If you are looking for a yoga teacher training in Bangalore that focuses on holistic growth, this is it. We do not just teach you how to sequence a class. We show you how to maintain a peaceful state of mind when you return to your city life. By living in our ashram, eating sattvic meals, and engaging in silent self-reflection, you will learn to manage stress and emotions in a way that lasts long after the training ends.
