I believe that stories make us who we are. From folk dance research and theatre performances to interactive storytelling for children, I bring Karnataka’s rich traditions to life. Welcome to my creative journey.

The pure, uninhibited joy of a child lost in a story is the greatest reward for me. This is the magic we create at Katha Corner, where imagination takes flight.

I love the transformative power of costume and character. Here are three distinct roles I portrayed for the dance drama 'Karunada Vaibhava', each with its own story and spirit. This is the essence of character acting in theatre.

An interactive storytelling session in full swing. I believe stories are not just to be told, but to be lived. Here, the children become part of the narrative, making sounds, movements, and memories.

Announcing my annual 'Summer Sail' theatre workshop for children. It's a two week journey of fun, theatre games, and creativity, culminating in a stage show where the kids are the stars.

A powerful moment from our 'Shakti Stuti' dance drama. Portraying the fierce and divine energy of the Goddess through classical dance is an intense and fulfilling experience.

A poster for our Kannada comedy play 'L.S.D'. It's a 'paisaa vasool' show where three women take the stage to deliver non stop laughs and satire. Performing in my mother tongue is always special.

Sharing my research on Karnataka's intangible folk cultural heritage at Christ University. It is as important for me to study and share my learnings as it is to perform.

About this collection

I do not believe in limiting myself to one medium. Whether I am researching Karnataka's folk roots, performing in a Kannada comedy play, or conducting storytelling sessions at my studio, Kappanna Angala, my focus is always on genuine connection. If you are looking for an artist who brings authenticity and deep cultural research to your event or workshop, let's talk.

My World of Stories and Movement

My work is an ever-evolving conversation with the universe. I am a researcher, an actor, and a storyteller, and I use these roles to explore the cultural heritage of Karnataka. My approach is rooted in the conviction that stories, when told with honesty, have the power to transform.

Storytelling for Children Through 'Katha Corner,' I work with children to make narratives come alive. We don't just read stories; we use puppets, music, and interactive theatre games to transport kids into the world of Indian folklore and mythology. These sessions are designed to be chaotic, loud, and full of joy, creating spaces where children feel comfortable participating rather than just watching.

Theatre and Performance On stage, I embrace the challenge of character work. Whether I am performing in a high-energy Kannada comedy or a poignant dance-drama like 'Bengaluru Nagaratnamma,' I strive to embody the spirit of the story. I love the thrill of live theatre, especially when performing in my mother tongue, as it allows for a direct, raw connection with the audience.

Research and Teaching My scholarly pursuits are inseparable from my art. Researching Karnataka's intangible folk heritage informs everything I do, from my choreography to my workshops. I regularly conduct movement and character workshops, sharing the techniques I have gathered from my gurus and years of practice.

My home base is Kappanna Angala in JP Nagar, where I host many of these performances and workshops. If you want to discuss a private performance, a theatre workshop for your school, or a collaborative project, please reach out.
