A 12-day journey for children aged 7 and above to build confidence through theatre games, character work, and storytelling, leading up to a grand stage performance.

Rehearsals are in full swing for our 'Summer Sail' final performance. Here you can see the children practicing their scenes, movements, and group choreography.

The grand finale of our Summer Sail workshop at Kappanna Angala. After two weeks of hard work, the young sailors present their theatrical production to an audience of proud parents and friends.

A look behind the scenes at the fun and chaos of our Summer Sail workshop. From makeup and costumes to last minute practice, it's a team effort filled with excitement.

Day 6 of Summer Sail, focusing on theatre games and activities. These exercises are designed to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and unlock creativity.

A special arts and crafts session during our workshop. The children created their own paper lanterns, adding another layer of creativity to their theatre experience.

About this collection

We believe in the magic of letting kids own the spotlight. Our 12-day Summer Sail program is not just about memorizing lines, it is about giving children the space to find their own voice through theatre games, puppetry, and character building. By the end of the two weeks, your child will have prepared a full-fledged stage production from scratch—including costumes, makeup, and props—to perform right here at our studio, Kappanna Angala.

What to Expect

This isn't a classroom-style course; it is an active, messy, and loud immersion into theatre. Over our 12-day schedule, we focus on three main pillars:

  • Voice & Body: Through daily exercises, we help children work on voice projection and body language, turning shyness into stage presence.
  • The Craft: We dedicate specific sessions to making our own props, masks, and puppets. This keeps the kids engaged and helps them understand the behind-the-scenes effort that goes into a production.
  • The Production: The camp culminates in a proper show at our JP Nagar studio. We handle the lighting, costumes, and makeup, giving the children a real-world experience of what it takes to put a performance together.

Why Our Approach Works

I run these workshops with Ramya Srinidhi because we want to move away from rigid, competitive formats. We focus on 'kuttis' (kids) finding their natural expression. Whether your child is a natural chatterbox or someone who prefers to observe, our theatre games are designed to meet them where they are. We use folklore, mythology, and simple daily stories to make the characters relatable and fun to play.
