Beyond the studio practice lies the stage. See my approach to storytelling through movement, from festival performances to creative experiments.

Everything that is Dance is Shiva. A powerful posture from a photoshoot, embodying the divine energy of dance, captured on Mahashivaratri.

A moment from my performance of 'Maam Pahi' on stage. As a performer, I bring my passion and experience into every class, sharing the depth and dynamism of Bharatanatyam with my students.

Highlighting the beauty of Mudras, the hand gestures that form the language of Bharatanatyam. The soft studio lighting accentuates the grace and precision of the form.

A snippet from a Mallari I learned from my Guru. This piece fills me with joy every time I practice, pulling me deeper into the beauty of the choreography.

Exploring movement and light in the studio. This behind-the-scenes clip shows how we play with creative lighting to enhance the visual storytelling of a dance piece.

A creative session playing with light, camera, and movement. This is where I explore new ideas and expressions, constantly evolving as an artist.

A short reel from my studio, capturing the flow and energy of a practice session as I prepare for upcoming performances.

On a rainy night, sometimes all you need is to move without an agenda. This impromptu session was pure therapy, a moment of bliss and love for the art form.

"Dance first. Think later." A candid practice reel from my studio, capturing the natural order of letting movement take over.

A creative perspective on Asamyuta Hastas, the single-hand gestures. This reel plays with angles and lighting to showcase the beauty of each mudra.

About The Art of Performance

My stage work is built on the same foundations as my teaching: honest storytelling. Whether I am performing a traditional Mallari or experimenting with light and movement, the goal is to create a genuine connection between the rhythm, the performance space, and the audience.

Performing is where the hours of practice in the studio meet the energy of a live audience. My approach to every performance, whether it is a full-scale stage production or a collaborative project, is grounded in the traditional repertoire I learned from my Gurus, balanced with modern presentation techniques.

I do not view a performance as just a series of steps. It is a dialogue. When I choreograph for events or stage shows, I focus heavily on Abhinaya (expression) and Nattuvangam (rhythm management) to ensure the story connects with the audience, regardless of their familiarity with classical dance.

I am often asked about the elements that make a stage performance successful. My answer usually involves the details people miss: the lighting design, the stage makeup that holds up under heavy stage lights, and the dynamic between the dancer and the orchestra. I have built a team—my 'all women's army' orchestra—that understands this chemistry perfectly.

If you are looking for a Bharatanatyam performer for a festival, a corporate cultural event, or seeking choreography services for a special production, I bring the same rigor to these projects as I do to my classroom. From conceptualizing the performance narrative to managing the logistics of stage makeup and live music cues, I handle the artistic direction. Let us discuss your event vision.
