In our workshops, we don't just mimic postures; we follow the traditional Sivananda method of step-by-step progression. Whether you are aiming for the headstand or working on spinal alignment, you will need to prepare for dedicated weekend or morning time slots, as we prioritize steady, focused practice over quick results to ensure your safety and progress.
Our approach to asana is designed to move beyond simple physical exercise. We focus on the 12 basic postures of the Sivananda system, helping you understand how to hold, breathe, and relax within each movement.
What to Expect in Our Asana Workshops
- The Headstand (Sirsasana) Mastery: Often called the King of Asanas, this pose is a staple of our workshops. We do not jump into it; we guide you through an eight-step preparatory process. This ensures you build the necessary core strength and confidence to hold the posture with minimal effort.
- Asana Jayam (Stability): We hold specific sessions where the focus is on holding postures for longer periods. This helps you move past the 'trembling' phase of early practice and into a state of physical stability and mental calm.
- Alignment & Safety: Our instructors provide hands-on adjustments. We emphasize spinal health, making these workshops particularly helpful if you are dealing with stiffness or seeking to correct postural habits from sedentary work.
- Beyond the Pose: Every session includes traditional chanting (Dhyana Slokas) and peace mantras. We believe that the internal state is just as important as the external shape.
We provide a non-commercial environment with natural ventilation and marble flooring, designed for focused, traditional practice rather than fitness-club intensity. Please note that for advanced sessions like inversions, we prioritize students who have attended our foundational courses to ensure everyone is ready for the technical demands.
