We take our 'Color & Learn' book on the road, turning preschools and art studios across Bangalore into interactive playgrounds where children discover the magic of Indian classical instruments firsthand.

A magical experience at our 11th book tour stop in Chennai! This was our first outstation event, bringing together a wonderful community of families and musicians.

Our #MusicalBookTour photo frame is always a hit! Capturing the happy faces of our little Shrotas is one of our favorite parts of these events.

Children and parents completely absorbed in the story and music during our book tour. These sessions are designed to be intimate and highly interactive.

Look at those happy faces! Our book tour stop at Prayag Montessori was filled with music, learning, and lots of smiles as kids received their "Color & Learn" books.

The full house at our Whitefield book tour stop. It is heartwarming to see so many families come together to share in a morning of Indian classical music.

The wonderful community that gathered for our musical book tour at Artbeat in HSR Layout. We are so grateful for our venue partners who help us spread the music.

A student teaches another during our book tour, a beautiful moment of peer-to-peer learning. We foster an environment where children feel empowered to share their knowledge.

About this collection

This is not a sit-still-and-listen event. When we roll into your neighborhood, we turn Indian classical music into a tactile experience where your child can actually touch a Sitar, feel the vibration of a Tabla, or try out a Violin under the guidance of a real musician.

Our Musical Book Tour is built around the idea that music shouldn't be intimidating. We take our activity book, 'Color & Learn with Little Bajo!', and use it as a map for a morning of storytelling and discovery.

Every tour stop is different, but they all share a few things. First, there is live music. You will see professional musicians demonstrating instruments—from the deep, resonant notes of a Mridangam to the sharp melodies of a Bansuri. Second, there is the 'instrument petting zoo.' This is exactly what it sounds like: a supervised, safe space where kids get to hold, pluck, and tap these instruments themselves.

We pair this with art, too. Kids often spend time painting clay instruments or coloring activity sheets from our book. We host these sessions in cozy, familiar spots like preschools, art cafes, and community centers across Bangalore, including JP Nagar, Whitefield, and HSR Layout.

It is designed for parents and kids to explore together. You aren't dropping them off at a class; you are joining a parivar of families who are all learning to appreciate the nuances of Hindustani and Carnatic traditions. Whether you are in Chennai or Bengaluru, these events are our way of making the classical arts feel like a natural, joyful part of your child's daily life.

ShrotaHouse

Travels across Bengaluru for workshopsStarting ₹850 per child per session

I'm Madhumita. I started ShrotaHouse because I wanted our kids to grow up feeling the rhythm of Shastriya Sangeet in their bones, not just in textbooks. My team and I travel to studios and preschools across the city, turning quiet afternoons into musical adventures where your little ones can finally get their hands on a real instrument.
