Music is a language that connects generations. Read real stories from families who found their rhythm with us.

"The way they are teaching it now is way better than we used to learn." A parent shares how our modern, interactive approach to classical music is a big learning experience for her as well.

"Not just kids, even we as parents enjoyed indulging in this session." A father shares his joy after attending a "Wonderful Vaadya Project" workshop with his child.

"I have never seen a Sitar before, only in pictures." A young girl and her mother share their excitement after experiencing a live sitar performance for the first time at our workshop.

"I love how present they were today." A guest musician shares his observation that children are naturally receptive to classical music when it's presented in an engaging, unbiased way.

"I was happy to see a new instrument on stage." Listen to our young Shrotas from the USA chatting excitedly about a Carnatic music concert they attended, showing their growing knowledge and love for the art form.

"I thoroughly enjoyed the session and the treasure trove of information." A young book lover and student gives his five-star review of our Musical Book Tour.

"Along with the kids, we also had a very good time." A parent highlights how our events are designed to be an enjoyable and educational experience for the entire family.

About this collection

It is common for parents to walk into our workshops thinking they are just dropping off their kids. Often, they end up staying, discovering the joy of the sitar or tabla right alongside them, which is exactly why we design our sessions for the whole family.

We built ShrotaHouse to be a home, not a classroom. When we travel to venues in JP Nagar, Whitefield, or Koramangala, we see the same thing happen: parents who walked in hesitant end up just as engaged as their children. You will read stories here from parents who were surprised to find their child in a meditative state, or equally excited to try the instrument petting zoo for the first time. Our community is not just about learning Raags or Taals, it is about that shared, messy, joyful moment when a toddler holds a mridangam for the first time. We host interactive book tours and camps where the focus is on curiosity, not perfection. Whether it is our 5-day instrument mastery camp or a weekend pop-up, our goal is to help you build a lifelong bond with Indian classical music. We are proud to be a space where kids and parents jam, laugh, and learn together. Come join the parivar.
