Interactive Musical Storytelling for Kids
Music, stories, and puppets brought together to spark young imaginations. I create warm, interactive experiences where children are not just listeners, but participants in the magic.
Directing the 'Sunny Symphony' with the wonderful students from Srishti Special Academy. It was an honour to help these children share their talent and light up the stage.
Sharing a moment with a young audience member and a parrot puppet during a birthday party. I always try to make my performances for children interactive and personal.
Performing at Bhoomija's Jackfruit Festival for an audience of special children from the Srishti Special Academy. Before the show, we met each child so we could be friends when we got on stage.
A wider view of the stage during the concert for special children. I curated a setlist of songs about the moon, rainbows, and little Krishna to create a magical experience for them.
One of the most precious moments of my life was when the children from Srishti Special Academy joined me on stage to sing with passion. My goal is always to create an inclusive space for music.
A little peek behind the scenes of a puppet show, ready for a kids' party. We use colourful puppets and props to capture the imagination of young audiences.
Getting ready for a storytelling session for the Summersault kids, with my special jury member in attendance. These sessions blend stories and music to create an engaging experience.
My daughter Kaadu, the 'special jury', enjoying the setup for a kids' storytelling event. Seeing events through a child's eyes helps me make them as fun as possible.
The relaxed and fun setup for a children's storytelling session, with beanbags for the kids to get comfortable. Creating a welcoming environment is key for engaging with children.
Facilitating a workshop for Bhavageethe lovers at the Indian Music Experience Museum. I also love conducting musical workshops for children at schools and private events.
About Engaging Performances for Children
I do not just perform for children; I perform with them. Whether it is a birthday party or a school event, I always spend a few moments settling in before the music starts. This helps us become friends, making the puppets feel less like props and more like new characters in our shared story.
My work with children is rooted in genuine connection. It is not about putting on a clinical show; it is about laughter, rhythm, and spontaneity. Drawing from my collaborations with organizations like the Srishti Special Academy, I have learned that the most engaging musical experiences are those that invite participation, regardless of the child's ability or age.
I weave together folklore, animal songs, and puppetry with simple, catchy melodies. If a child wants to sing, dance, or just sit close and watch the puppets, I follow their lead. I often bring along a collaborator—a puppeteer or percussionist—to keep the energy high and the storytelling dynamic.
From living rooms in Bengaluru to larger school events, I create a flexible setup. We can work with floor seating to remove the barrier between artist and audience, or use light acoustic setups. My approach is simple: keep it playful, keep it inclusive, and ensure every child leaves with a story of their own to tell. If you are looking to host an event that feels less like a performance and more like a gathering, I would love to help craft that for you.
