About this collection
In our Jaltarang camps, we trade rigid theory for water-play. Kids and parents learn the science of sound by tapping bowls of water at different volumes. It gets a little wet and wonderfully chaotic, which is exactly how music should feel when you are starting out.
Our Jaltarang camps are designed to break the barrier between a student and their instrument. Instead of sitting still, you and your child will spend 5 days exploring pitch, volume, and rhythm using nothing but water and ceramic bowls.
The ShrotaHouse Experience
We operate across Bengaluru, from JP Nagar to Whitefield, bringing these workshops into preschools and community spaces. We believe music is a language that connects generations. During this camp, the 'work' is actually a game—we model clay, color activity sheets from our 'Little Bajo' series, and experiment with sounds.
What to Expect
- Parent-Child Bonding: This is not a drop-off class. You will be right there, tapping alongside your child.
- The Finale: On the fifth day, we hold a small graduation showcase where your little one performs their first composition.
- Tools Included: We provide all instruments, water-tuning equipment, and art supplies for the daily craft sessions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need musical experience? Not at all. Whether you have trained in music or haven't held an instrument in years, our method is built for beginners. We focus on listening, curiosity, and having fun.
What age is this for? Our Jaltarang camps are best suited for children aged 3 to 8, but we welcome parents of all ages to join the fun.
What if my child is shy? Our environment is designed to be a safe, noisy, and non-judgmental space. We encourage them to move and make sound at their own pace.
ShrotaHouse
I started ShrotaHouse because music felt like home, and I wanted to share that 'home' with you. My team and I believe the best music lessons do not happen at a desk. They happen when you are laughing, spilling a little water, and finding your rhythm alongside your child.
