Meet Our Gurus and the ShrotaHouse Family
Music is more than just notes to us; it is a feeling we share. Meet Madhumita and our dedicated gurus who bring the magic of Shastriya Sangeet to life for our little Shrotas.
A memorable start to the new year meeting one of the living legends of Indian art music, Vid. Dr. Sriram Parasuram. I was first inspired by him as a teenager, and his scholarship continues to be a guiding light.

About Meet the Founder & Our Gurus
Our teachers don't just lecture from a podium, you will often find them sitting on the floor right alongside the children. We believe that for a child to truly fall in love with Indian classical music, the traditional barrier between 'guru' and 'student' needs to dissolve, allowing for genuine, tactile exploration of instruments like the tabla and harmonium in a space where mistakes are just part of the fun.
Our Musical Philosophy
At ShrotaHouse, we believe that education should feel like home. When we introduce kids to the nuances of Hindustani or Carnatic music, we don't start with textbooks or rigid discipline. We start with stories, rhythm, and the sheer joy of sound. Our founder, Madhumita, and the team of gurus are here to guide your child not as distant instructors, but as fellow travelers on a musical journey.
Meet the Team
Every guru on our team is selected for two things: their deep expertise in Indian classical music and their immense patience with young learners. Whether it is a workshop at our JP Nagar studio or a home session in Bengaluru, our mentors are trained to observe each child's natural inclination. We watch for which instrument they gravitate toward, how they respond to laya (rhythm), and where their curiosity lies.
A Shared Space
We know that children learn best when they feel safe and comfortable. That is why we keep our batch sizes small. It allows our teachers to give personal attention, ensuring every child—from the shyest toddler to the most energetic 8-year-old—gets a chance to touch the sitar, feel the vibrations of the mridangam, and ask questions. We aren't just teaching an art form; we are building a parivar (family) of music lovers who will carry the beauty of our heritage forward for years to come. If you have been looking for an environment where your child can explore music without the pressure of performance, you have found it here.
