Carnatic Music Classes for Kids in Bangalore
Our 'Bindaas Kutti' program helps children discover the joy of Carnatic music through play and performance, not just theory. Join our family at our Gottigere space and watch your child find their voice.
The pure joy and concentration of our 'Bindaas Kutti' team during a live concert. We encourage our students to be expressive and sing from the heart, turning lessons into confident stage performances.
Our young vocalists share the stage with a mridangam artist, learning the dynamics of performing as part of a live ensemble. This practical experience is a core part of our teaching philosophy.
From practice sessions to the main stage, our students learn to coordinate with each other and the accompanying artists. This image captures our young singers performing a piece together with focus and unity.
A wonderful view of our students performing with a violinist. Learning to sing with live instruments helps develop a deeper understanding of melody and rhythm, a skill we prioritize for all our kuttis.
This collage shows both the guru's guidance and the students' application. Our young singers are seen here in full performance mode, a direct result of the dedicated and nurturing training they receive.
About The 'Bindaas Kutti' Team in Action
The biggest leap for our students is moving from singing in class to performing with live mridangam and violin accompaniment. We prepare our kuttis for this by bringing professional musicians into their practice sessions early on, so the stage feels like an extension of our home, not a scary new world.
At Samarpana, we treat Carnatic music as a language to be spoken, not a subject to be studied. Our beginner curriculum covers the essential foundations—Sarali Varisai, Janta Varisai, and basic Geethams—but we teach these with games and rhythm-based learning to keep the 'Bindaas Kutti' energy alive.
Why Our Approach Works
We believe that classical music for kids should be an experience, not a chore. By limiting our batches to 4-6 students, we ensure every child gets personal attention from our mentors. This allows us to spot the moments where they struggle and gently guide them through it, whether it's perfecting a complex Swara or simply finding the right rhythm on the hand-tala.
The 'Live' Difference
Most students only encounter live accompaniment during final exams or major stage shows. We do things differently. By practicing with live violin and mridangam artists, our students learn to listen to the melody and keep time instinctively. This integration is crucial; it helps them understand the nuance of stage dynamics, mic technique, and the discipline of a traditional ensemble.
More Than Just Lessons
Our space in Gottigere is where we cultivate a music family. You will find that our classes are more like an 'adda' (hangout) where laughter is just as important as the notes. We emphasize traditional values like offering pranams to gurus and parents, grounding our students in respect while keeping the learning environment open and fun. If you are looking for a place where your child can grow into a confident performer, our doors are open.
