See our tiny tots light up the stage, from intimate recitals to grand community celebrations, building confidence through the joy of Indian classical music.

"Unbelievable how these children do so much music!" This was the reaction from the audience at our Navratri special performance. Our tiny tots took the stage with incredible confidence and talent.

A huge congratulations to our musical star, Dhruv. We are so proud to see him winning awards for his progress in instrumental classical music. This is a testament to his hard work and bright musical future.

A young violinist captivates his first audience of peers during our Musical Book Tour in Chennai. We create many such opportunities for students to perform.

Our little graduates, proudly holding their trophies after a performance. We celebrate every milestone, big or small, to build their confidence and love for music.

A group of young students, sitting attentively with their books, listening to a performance. Being a good listener, or 'Shrota', is just as important as being a performer.

This clip is from my recent vocal performance of Raag Multani. I feel lucky to have my son with me during practices and performances, absorbing the music and building his own love for the art.

About this collection

Every performance here, whether it’s a Navratri special or a quiet classroom recital, is designed to build confidence without the pressure to be perfect. We focus on the sheer joy of sharing a Raag, ensuring our little ones feel safe, supported, and celebrated the moment they step onto the floor.

Our performance philosophy at ShrotaHouse is simple: the stage is a practice space, not a test. We believe that when children, aged 3 to 8, perform, they aren't just presenting music, they are sharing a piece of their growth.

Why We Prioritize Performance

We know that stage fright is real, even for adults. By introducing performance early in a low-pressure environment, we help children turn nervousness into excitement. Whether it's during our 'Wonderful Vaadya' workshops or a formal event, the goal is to make the act of standing before an audience feel as natural as singing a lullaby at home.

The 'Shrotagan' Support System

Music is a communal experience. Our 'Shrotagan' (our family of listeners and performers) acts as a built-in cheer squad. You will often see parents sitting on the floor alongside their children during these sessions. This isn't just about kids watching; it’s about families bonding. When a child sees their parent listening attentively, it validates their effort and makes the experience meaningful.

Our Performance Journey

  • Small Recitals: We start small. Often, this happens during our regular class rotations where children introduce their favorite instrument to their peers.
  • Navratri & Festivals: We use these occasions to celebrate our culture. These larger gatherings allow children to see how their music connects with the wider community.
  • Milestone Celebrations: Whether it's a student receiving an award or finishing a 10-week Explorer Term, we celebrate every step. It’s not about the trophy, but the journey of learning the notes.

If you want your child to experience this blend of Hindustani or Carnatic music training, storytelling, and confidence-building performance, we invite you to join our family.

Hi, I'm Madhumita. Seeing a child who once shyly held an instrument confidently share a piece of music in front of an audience is my 'why'. We don't just teach music, we build a stage where our little Shrotagan can find their voice, one note at a time.
