Paddleboard Yoga: Find Your Balance on Water
Take your practice from the studio to the water. Our floating yoga sessions challenge your stability, build deep core strength, and bring a sense of adventure to your routine.
Taking my practice to the open water with raft yoga. This video shows moments from a session, from paddling out to holding asanas like Chakrasana on the board, challenging stability and connecting with the elements.
About Paddleboard Yoga: Nature's Challenge
Balancing on a board requires constant micro-adjustments that you do not get on a static studio floor. It forces you to engage your core naturally, not because you are told to, but because it is the only way to stay upright on the water. Expect to wobble, laugh, and reconnect with your movements in a way that feels playful and fresh.
When we take our asanas onto a paddleboard, the water becomes our teacher. This practice removes the comfort of a solid mat and introduces dynamic, shifting elements that demand total presence. It is a fantastic way to develop proprioception and functional stability.
Why Practice on the Water?
While we love our studio in Konanakunte, there is a specific clarity that comes from practicing under an open sky. The instability of the board means your stabilizer muscles have to work harder. You are not just holding a pose; you are actively negotiating your balance against the movement of the lake or pool. It is an honest feedback loop for your alignment.
What to Expect
These sessions are about the journey, not perfection. Do not worry about falling; it is part of the fun. We provide the equipment, including the floating yoga mats or stand-up paddleboards and life jackets. We keep these sessions focused on safety, usually working in partnership with pools or resorts around the Kanakapura Road area.
A Community Approach
We believe in shared experiences. Practicing in nature, surrounded by water and light, shifts the energy of your practice. It is about building strength, but also about letting go of expectations. Whether you are a regular at our studio or looking to try something entirely new, come with an open mind. Abhyaasa, or consistent practice, helps us find balance everywhere, even when the ground beneath us is moving. Om Namah Shivaya.
