About Go Deeper: Workshops & Advanced Poses
These sessions are not about ego or perfecting a look; they are about understanding your anatomy. We break down complex movements, use props like wall ropes for spinal traction, and focus on the technique that makes deeper asanas safe and sustainable for your body.
Advancing your practice requires more than just flexibility. It demands strength, alignment, and a deeper awareness of how your body moves. In our advanced workshops at our GK-1 studio, we move beyond the basics of Hatha and Vinyasa to explore more demanding asanas.
Why Focus on Advanced Technique?
We use Iyengar-inspired techniques, including wall ropes, blocks, and bolsters, to help you safely explore inversions like Sirsasana (Headstand) or deep hip-opening poses. These tools allow you to find alignment that would be impossible without support, helping you build the necessary muscle memory and stability to practice these poses independently later on.
What to Expect
These aren't open-ended classes where you get lost in a crowd. We keep the batches small—capped at 12 students—so I can provide hands-on adjustments. We often look at the 'why' behind the pose:
- Anatomy-First: Understanding joint health to prevent injury.
- Breath Control: Using Pranayama to maintain calm during challenging holds.
- Alignment Accuracy: Breaking myths about what a 'perfect' pose should look like.
Whether you are looking to master your first inversion or want to refine your current alignment, these workshops provide the space to grow. It is about moving from simple repetition to intelligent practice.
