A glimpse into the grace, rhythm, and traditional spirit that define our Kathak journey here at Sāttvatī.

This is a glimpse into the soul of Kathak. Here I am performing a piece in a beautifully ornate hall, showcasing the intricate footwork, expressive abhinaya, and joyful spins, or 'chakkars', that define this classical dance style.

The magic of dancing to live music is an experience I cherish for my students. This video shows a rehearsal in progress, with students practicing their bols and movements to the live rhythm of the tabla and the melody of the harmonium.

I am so proud to see my students command the stage with such grace. This is a moment from their performance at the Chota Canvas Dance Festival, where they presented a group choreography in vibrant traditional costumes.

Your journey into Kathak starts here. I am happy to announce that admissions are open for both online and offline classes, welcoming new students to explore this beautiful art form with us.

Sāttvatī is a family, and we celebrate every milestone together. Here I am with my youngest students, my kids, sharing a happy moment and cutting a cake to celebrate our school's anniversary.

Dancing in a space that breathes history is a profound experience. This performance, set against the ancient pillars of a temple, connects the dance to its deep cultural and architectural roots.

I am thrilled to share the art of Kathak across the globe. This poster announces a workshop I conducted at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre at the Embassy of India in Beijing, inviting dancers to learn the stylized walk, or 'gati', of Kathak.

There is always so much energy and laughter in our classes. This is a fun moment where I challenged my students to pick up a complex Jhaptaal Tihai, and they responded with incredible enthusiasm and precision.

About Featured

We believe Kathak is best learned with ears wide open, which is why our classes often feature live tabla and harmonium accompaniment. It connects you to the rhythm in a way that recorded tracks simply cannot, turning every practice session into a genuine conversation with the music.
