At Sāttvatī, dance is about more than just footwork; it is about building a community. These moments capture the laughter, blessings, and milestones we have shared together as a dance family.

Celebrating two years of Sāttvatī with my talented senior students. This group photo captures the grace and camaraderie that defines our dance school.

A beautiful group photo of all my students, young and old, gathered for our second-anniversary celebration. It fills my heart with joy to see our community grow.

A quiet moment of guidance before a performance. Here I am with two of my young students, sharing a few last words of encouragement.

A group photo from our Teacher's Day celebration. I am so grateful for my students, who fill our studio with so much love, respect, and of course, cake.

The best part of any celebration is sharing it with my kids. This is a sweet moment of them gathered around to cut the Teacher's Day cake.

Laughter and joy fill the room during our Teacher's Day celebration. These informal moments of connection are just as important as the time we spend practicing.

Celebrating the first anniversary of Sāttvatī School of Dance with my dear friends and fellow dancers. Their support has been invaluable on this journey.

A joyful pose with fellow artists who joined us for our first-anniversary celebration. The spirit of collaboration and friendship is central to our school's ethos.

My guru, Smt. Nirupama Rajendra, sharing her wisdom during our first-anniversary event. I am eternally grateful for her guidance and blessings.

A candid moment of conversation with my gurus and guests at our studio. These interactions are a source of immense learning and inspiration.

About Our Sāttvatī Family: Celebrations & Milestones

We balance strict adherence to traditional etiquette with the warmth of a family, ensuring that your journey from your first Tatkar (footwork) to your first stage performance is supported every step of the way. Whether we are celebrating an anniversary or a student's milestone, these moments reinforce the bond we build during practice.

Our studio is not just a place to learn steps. We view Kathak as a lifelong journey, and our community reflects the deep, personal connections that come with the traditional guru-shishya parampara. Whether you are training in our small batches in Banashankari, Jayanagar, or Koramangala, the environment is designed to be supportive for both kids and adults.

We limit our class sizes to 6-12 students to ensure that every dancer receives direct feedback on their Hastas (hand gestures) and posture. This focused approach is why our students feel comfortable performing on stage during our annual shows. We believe that regular practice, combined with a bit of masti (fun) and community events like Teacher’s Day, keeps the enthusiasm high, just like it was when I first started dancing at twelve.

If you are worried about whether you are 'ready' for a class, please know that we welcome beginners with open hearts. We provide the technical foundation—rhythm mathematics, spins, and body alignment—while making sure the process remains joyful. If you cannot make it to our physical studios, our online sessions are adapted specifically for home practice, ensuring you get the same quality of verbal correction and technical guidance no matter where you are.

I founded Sāttvatī to pass down the Kathak traditions I learned from my own gurus. For me, my students are like my kids, and seeing them grow, perform, and find joy in the rhythm is the greatest reward of my teaching.
