Kathak Stage Performances by Sāttvatī Students
We believe the true essence of Kathak is realized when a student steps onto the stage. From our studio showcases to festivals like the Chota Canvas Dance Festival, here is how our students share the rhythm of their hard work with the world.

About From Practice to Performance
Preparing for a performance involves much more than just perfecting the Tatkar (footwork) and Hastas (hand gestures). At Sāttvatī, we integrate stage presence training from the very first lesson. I guide my students to understand the Abhinaya (expression) behind every piece, ensuring they are not just performing steps, but truly telling a story to the audience.
We treat every opportunity to perform as a sacred offering of our dedication. Whether it is a small gathering or a larger production like our 'Arambh' showcase at Seva Sadan, my goal is to help students overcome stage fright through consistent, real-world experience. We hold regular rehearsals with live tabla and harmonium accompaniment to ground them in rhythm, ensuring they are prepared for the unpredictable nature of live events.
Seeing my students grow from nervous beginners into confident performers—sharing their art at events like the Vijayadashami celebrations or the Chota Canvas Dance Festival—is the greatest reward of the guru-shishya parampara I live by. It is not about reaching perfection overnight, but about learning to move with grace, discipline, and joy. If you are looking to start your own journey, whether in our Jayanagar, Koramangala, or Banashankari studios, know that you are stepping into a community that cheers for every small win along the way.

I started dancing at 12, and now, I get to watch my students find their own rhythm. I see my students as my own kids, and nothing brings me more joy than seeing them share their passion on stage after months of dedicated practice.
