We believe in learning from the source, which is why we organize special workshops with living legends. This video shows glimpses from a 3-day masterclass we hosted with Shri Tribhuwan Maharaj, the grandson of the iconic Pandit Birju Maharaj, offering our students a direct connection to the Kathak lineage.

This is the result of dedicated practice. Here, our senior students are seen in perfect synchronization during a studio session, practicing a complex choreography. Notice the uniformity in their hand gestures and expressions, which is a key focus in our advanced batches.

The 'chakkar', or spin, is one of the most exhilarating elements of Kathak. This moment, captured during our Annual Day performance, shows a student executing a spin with grace and control, showcasing the technical precision and energy we cultivate in our dancers.

The connection between the dancer and the musician is the soul of Kathak. In this video, you can see our students first practicing the rhythmic syllables, or 'bols', with a live tabla player, and then translating that rhythm into footwork and movement. This foundational practice is central to our teaching method.

Storytelling in Kathak is done through 'abhinaya', where 'hastak' or hand gestures play a vital role. This clip shows a close-up of our students during a 'hastak' practice session, focusing on the clarity and grace of each movement to convey emotion and narrative effectively.

About Featured

You might notice in our sessions that we prioritize learning with live tabla accompaniment. It makes a world of difference when your feet land on the floor exactly as the rhythm speaks. Whether you are a total beginner or refining your taal, this connection between sound and movement is where the real magic happens, grounding your practice in the authentic lineage of the dance.
