About Beyond Boxing: BJJ & Grappling Sessions
BJJ is less about raw strength and more about leverage and timing. In my sessions, we drill specific sequences, from guard retention to sweep chains, so you learn the mechanics of control rather than just reacting to pressure. Whether you join the 5:45 AM Dawn Patrol or a weekend jam, the focus is always on safe, technical progression within our community.
At my dojo, grappling is taught as a technical language. We focus on No-Gi BJJ, meaning we work on wrestling takedowns, controlling positions, and setting up submissions without relying on grabbing a uniform. It is an effective, tactical way to train that translates well to real-world control.
We break down complex movements into small, manageable drills. If you are a complete beginner, you will not be thrown into the deep end. We emphasize kuzushi (off-balancing) and guard retention basics before moving to more advanced tactical sequences.
Our BJJ Jams are a huge part of the culture. It is not a competition, but a safe space to test what you have learned, share tips with partners, and get immediate feedback. We host these sessions regularly at our HSR and RT Nagar facilities. Because we keep the groups smaller and focused on structured learning, you get plenty of personal attention from me and other experienced members.
Whether you are training for fitness or looking to build a genuine skillset, the environment remains collaborative. We are there to help each other improve, not to prove who is tougher. My goal is to ensure you understand the 'why' behind every move we make on the mats.
