Boxing Technique & Drills

Sharpen your punches, improve footwork, and master the ring. We focus on accuracy, reflexes, and speed, not just raw power.

This is a dumbbell shadow boxing drill. The light weights add resistance to build shoulder endurance and punching power, forcing you to maintain proper form throughout the movement.

Pad work is a conversation between the boxer and the coach. I give you targets, you give me power and precision. This is how we build combinations, timing, and reflexes.

The heavy bag is for developing power and stamina. Here, members are working on their punches and movement around the bag, practicing what they've learned in a live-fire situation.

Personal training sessions are for focused work. Here, I am working one-on-one with a student on his shadow boxing, correcting his form and ensuring every punch is sharp.

A typical scene during a boxing session. Members are working on different skills simultaneously: skipping for rhythm, shadow boxing for form, and heavy bag work for power.

About this collection

We don't follow a fixed formula because boxing isn't a textbook exercise. In our drill sessions, I focus on building your reaction time through active pad work and shadow boxing. You’ll feel the difference when you’re not just punching hard, but punching smart, adjusting your angle and rhythm with every movement.

Accuracy Over Power

Many people think boxing is just about heavy hands. At Rox, we strip that back. We focus on the 'why' behind every movement. Whether it is shadow boxing with light weights to build shoulder endurance or performing high-speed pad work to sharpen your reactions, every drill has a purpose.

The Drill Breakdown

  • Shadow Boxing: We use mirrors to correct your form. This is where you learn to visualize the opponent and maintain your balance while throwing combinations.
  • Pad Work: This is the conversation. I hold the targets, and you learn to time your strikes. We move constantly, so you learn to keep your hands up and your mind active, even when you're tired.
  • Heavy Bag Work: This builds your conditioning. It isn't about slapping the bag; it's about transfer of weight and hitting with intent. You will sweat, you will breathe heavy, but you will learn how to generate power from the ground up.

Training at Rox

We are a no-frills, old-school gym located in Bommanahalli. We don't have AC and we don't have fancy gimmicks. We have a ring, bags, and a team that grinds. If you are here to learn how to box, you are in the right place. We track your progress, fix your stance, and ensure that every session leaves you technically better than the last one. If you can't get a move right, we don't move on—we stay there and fix it together. Ho jayega.
