Mid-century nostalgia meets modern decadence at Hikki, Saket. A restaurant design narrative built on olive trees, rust velvet, and infinite reflections.

An olive tree stands as the soulful centerpiece of the restaurant, its organic form a natural sculpture against the dark, moody interior. The mirrored ceiling reflects the scene, creating an illusion of an endless, enchanted grove.

A view of the dining area, framed by the leaves of the olive tree. The glowing, double-height bar in the background serves as a dramatic, amber-lit backdrop.

A detail of the shelving, filled with curated artifacts, set against the backdrop of the brilliantly lit bar. This composition creates a dialogue between intimate objects and the grand scale of the space.

The interplay of textures and reflections. A column of glossy red ceramic tiles punctuates the space, while the mirrored ceiling and fluted wood panels add layers of visual complexity.

A comfortable booth seating arrangement, where the rich red of the chairs and the glossy tile wall create a warm and inviting corner.

The linear arrangement of dining tables, with plush rust-colored chairs and custom fringed lampshades. The lighting is carefully calibrated to create pools of intimacy in the open space.

A wider view of the dining room, showing how the central olive tree anchors the space and creates a natural canopy for diners.

A quiet corner where a wooden credenza and curated objects create a residential, almost personal, feel.

A view from behind the olive tree, looking towards a dining table. This framing creates a sense of privacy and discovery.

Another intimate corner, where a moss-green banquette is nestled amongst lush plants, creating a feeling of dining in a secret garden.

About Hikki: A Symphony of Amber and Olive

The central olive tree at Hikki is a structural anchor that demands a careful balance between organic density and the surrounding dining floor. By integrating a mirrored ceiling above it, we created a sense of infinite height that transforms the area from a standard restaurant layout into a theatrical event. This technique requires precise lighting calibration to ensure the reflection adds depth rather than visual noise, turning the ceiling into an active participant in the room’s atmosphere.

Hikki is an exercise in neo-decadence. Our approach was to create a space that feels both timeless and grounded in the present. We selected a material palette of fluted wood, rust velvet, and ceramic tiles to build a tactile environment that feels lived-in yet polished. The restaurant relies on a layered lighting strategy, moving away from bright, uniform illumination toward a warm, amber-hued glow that defines intimacy.

We approached the layout in Saket not as a simple grid, but as a series of encounters. By using deep burgundy shelving and mirroring, we pushed the boundaries of the existing floor plate, making the bar feel like a sculptural monument. Our design intent was to ensure that the architecture does not merely host the dining experience but actively participates in it. Whether you are seated near the olive grove or tucked into a booth, the design ensures a constant dialogue between your immediate environment and the larger, theatrical scale of the restaurant.

We handle commercial interior design across Delhi NCR and India, focusing on translating brand identities into physical spaces that influence how people move, sit, and interact. We avoid standard industry trends, preferring to let the narrative of the brand drive the architectural form.
