We craft intimate spaces that balance vintage curves with modern depth. Here is a look at how we use mood lighting, rich textures, and bold color to create memorable lounge and bar experiences.

A doorway framed by deep blue paneled walls offers a glimpse from a moody corridor into the bright, plant-filled garden court. This transition highlights the deliberate contrast I create between different zones to evoke distinct emotional responses.

The bar area is detailed with classic retro elements, including brown leather bar stools with brass footrests and a carefully lit back bar. The dark, reflective surfaces and patterned wall panels contribute to a sophisticated and indulgent atmosphere.

Light reflects off the polished black herringbone floor, adding depth and glamour to the bar's interior. The interplay of light and shadow is a key component of my design, used here to create a space that feels both intimate and dramatic.

In this green-toned private lounge, I used custom-designed wooden furniture with clean, angular lines and rich brown leather. The space is filled with dappled light from nearby windows, creating a calm and earthy retreat with a mid-century modern sensibility.

This private lounge is wrapped in a continuous wash of peach tones, from the fluted walls to the scalloped ceiling. The design creates a soft, feminine, and cinematic calm, a quiet escape that uses monolithic color and gentle curves to shape an intimate and memorable experience.

For this private dining room, I used earthy lime-washed walls and a dark red oxide floor to create a warm, grounded feeling. A long, custom wooden table sits under a modern tubular light, blending traditional materials with contemporary forms for a timeless appeal.

The coffee counter features a bold, graphic tile pattern that contrasts with the rustic, lime-washed walls. This blend of patterns and textures is central to my retro-modern approach, creating visual interest and a unique brand identity for the space.

About Retro-Modern Moods: Private Lounges & Bars

When planning your bar or lounge, consider the transition zones. We focus on the shift from high-energy entrances to quiet corners by layering different floor textures and light intensities. It is a deliberate choice—we want your guests to physically feel the mood change the moment they step into your private lounge.

Designing a bar or private lounge requires more than just visual appeal. It is about managing the user's energy and creating an atmosphere that sticks. We work with a palette of tactile, honest materials like lime plaster, tinted glass, brass, and raw wood to create environments that feel grounded rather than staged.

Whether it is a moody, blue-paneled corridor or a sun-drenched peach lounge with scalloped ceilings, we tailor the atmosphere to the story you want to tell. We look at the interplay of light and shadow, using vintage-inspired sconces to create pools of warmth, and integrating indoor plants to blur the line between interior and exterior. This biophilic approach is key to our work, ensuring that even in compact, high-density areas, there is a sense of airiness and connection to nature.

When you work with us, we start with the narrative. We do not just look for a theme but focus on how the space will function and age. From custom furniture details like brass footrails and rattan weaving to the acoustic qualities of our ceiling treatments, every element is chosen to ensure the space is durable, functional, and visually compelling for years to come.
