Foundational Skills: Handstands, Balance & Flexibility
Stop using machines and start mastering your own weight. We focus on building raw core control and flexibility through calisthenics and gymnastic drills, right here in Bengaluru.
This is a demonstration of a headstand flow on a gymnastics mat. I start with a straddle, move into different leg variations, and finish with control, showing the balance required.
The superman push-up is an explosive exercise that builds power in your chest, shoulders, and core. Here, my students and I are captured mid-flight.
I guide my students through various headstand poses against the wall for support. This helps build the confidence and strength needed for freestanding inversions.
A demonstration of a one-legged headstand variation. This challenges your balance and core stability more than a standard headstand.
This headstand with legs in a diamond shape is another great pose for practicing balance and control. It also provides a good stretch for the hips.
As a coach, I lead by example. I am always ready to guide my students through every step of their training journey.
About Foundational Skills: Balance & Flexibility
We don't expect you to nail a freestanding handstand on day one. We start with wall-assisted drills to build shoulder stability and core engagement. Once your balance is solid, we move to controlled flows. It is about consistent progression, not jumping into moves you aren't ready for yet.
Why Foundation Comes First
At The Rock Bull Academy of Arts (RBA), we see too many people trying to copy fancy moves without building the base strength first. If you want to learn a handstand, headstand, or human flag, you need to understand where your center of gravity is. We strip away the gym machines and get back to the basics: bodyweight control.
What You Will Actually Do
Our sessions are not about mindless reps. We focus on:
- Wall Drills: Building shoulder and wrist strength safely.
- Core Activation: Learning to engage your abs, not just crunching.
- Flexibility Flows: Deep stretches to open up your hips and shoulders, making inversions much easier.
- Spotting: As your coach, I am there to guide your movement. We use crash mats so you can practice without fear of falling.
Who This Is For
Whether you are a complete beginner or an athlete looking to clean up your technique, this is for you. We split groups by skill level, so you aren't stuck waiting for equipment or feeling pressured to keep up with someone way ahead of you. We train in a raw, non-AC industrial studio in Bengaluru. It is hot, it is intense, and that is how you get results.
The RBA Way
There are no shortcuts here. You show up, you listen, and you put in the sweat. If you are ready to stop guessing and start training with a plan, let’s get to work.
The Rock Bull Academy of Arts
I am Kru Chandra Kumar. I don't believe in easy hacks; I believe in sweating it out to get results. My academy, RBA, is where we strip away the noise and focus purely on what your body can actually do.
