Aerial Yoga Classes at Rati’s Yogshala
Defy gravity and reconnect with your inner self. Our aerial yoga sessions use silk hammocks to support, lengthen, and strengthen your body in a fun, non-judgmental space.
I believe Aerial Yoga is one of our most fun classes. It teaches you to trust yourself and let go of inhibitions. When you are suspended in the air, you learn to fly, and that feeling of accomplishment is something you carry with you off the mat.
A student finds her balance and joy while suspended in the aerial silk. This pose helps open the hips and build strength in the arms and core, all while feeling weightless.
Here, we provide hands-on assistance to ensure everyone feels safe and supported. An instructor helps a student adjust her form in the hammock, ensuring proper alignment for a deeper, more effective stretch.

About Aerial Yoga: Find Your Wings
In this studio, we don't use mirrors. Aerial yoga is about surrendering your weight to the silk and trusting your body to hold you, rather than watching yourself perform. Since our aerial slots are capped at about eight people, we have the space to guide you closely, making sure you feel safe whether you are inverting for the first time or simply relaxing in a cocoon.
Aerial yoga is often misunderstood as just acrobatic fun. While it is playful, it is fundamentally a tool for decompression and alignment. By using the hammock to support your weight, you can move into inversions that naturally decompress the spine, offering relief from back pain that sitting at a desk all day often causes. It is a total-body engagement that builds functional core strength and flexibility without the impact of floor-based gravity.
At our Kailash Colony studio, we treat these hammocks as partners in your practice. You don't need to be a gymnast to join. We guide you through everything from simple seated stretches to restorative cocoon poses that calm your nervous system. Every Wednesday evening, we set aside this hour to help you flip your perspective.
Why join our sessions?
- Personal Guidance: We keep class sizes small so I can ensure everyone is adjusted correctly in the silk.
- Deep Relaxation: We combine the physical flow with moments of stillness, often ending in a restorative sway that melts away stress.
- Community Vibe: You aren't just flying alone; you are part of a sangha where we laugh, support each other, and celebrate those moments when a pose finally clicks.
Whether you are here to heal your back or just to find a bit of space in your week, come as you are. You might just surprise yourself with what you can do.
Rati's Yoga
I started this studio because I needed a place to practice without being judged, and that is exactly the energy we bring to our aerial sessions. You won't find mirrors here because this practice isn't about how you look, but how you feel when you let the silk support you. Come fly, flip, or just rest—it is all welcome here.
