Spreading the poi flu, one flowmie at a time. This was the last class of a beginner course, where my student choreographed her own duet sequence. I love seeing my students take ownership of their flow.
My student Arnav rocking his poi skills in Bali and Sri Lanka. It brings me immense joy to see my students take their flow across the world. I offer private online and offline classes for kids to help them start their journey.
Announcing another beginner poi workshop. Every opportunity I get to spread this beautiful art form, I jump at it. I hope to see you there and look forward to spinning poi together.
A glimpse into the Himalayan Flow Gathering. I often travel to teach at festivals and retreats, offering workshops in poi, staff, and other props to a diverse community of learners.
A student sharing her progress. She calls movement her meditation, and it's a blast to see her learning and having fun with it. This is what my classes are all about.
At the end of his beginner course, my student Arnav created his own choreography. We had a blast performing it together. This is a great example of the final duet jam we do in my structured courses.
About Workshops & Private Training
We keep group sessions small so you get actual feedback on your plane control and grip. If you are starting from zero, we focus on the basics like timing and movement, so you walk away with a real routine rather than just watching tricks.
Flow arts is essentially movement medicine for me. In our beginner workshops at Bangalore Creative Circus, we break down the complexity of prop manipulation into manageable steps. You will learn the fundamentals of grip, planes of movement, and body tracing before we move into sequencing. If you are looking for a deeper dive, my structured courses guide you from zero to a fully choreographed routine, complete with a recorded video for your own progress tracking.
We also offer private 1-on-1 sessions if you prefer learning at your own pace or have a specific prop like a Dragon Staff or Silk Fans you want to master. Safety is non-negotiable, especially for those interested in the fire spinning experience. I provide all necessary briefings, fire blankets, and safety protocols before we ever light a wick. Whether you are in North Bangalore for an outdoor session or joining an online class, my goal is to help you build a rhythm that feels uniquely yours. Come ready to play, sweat, and learn.
Swaroop Shetty
Namaskara, I am Swaroop. I spent years spinning staff on festival streets as a kid, and today, I teach to help others find that same sense of play. My classes are not about perfection, they are about finding your own flow in a supportive, judgment-free space.
