For me, the setting is half the performance. From Hampi’s ancient stone corridors to the quiet of Himalayan peaks, I take flow arts out of the studio and into the wild.

A montage from the Himalayan Flow Gathering. Wilderness, sunsets, hailstorms, and a whole lot of flow. I love traveling for festivals that connect art with nature.

A sunset flow with sock poi at a beautiful temple. The historic setting adds a layer of serenity to this session, which opens with a 3 no-beat toss weave.

A sock poi session at a temple, feeling the force-multiplying power of perpetual optimism. The smooth feel of these props makes practice a joy.

A high-energy performance with colorful silk poi on stage at the Kappa Cultr festival in Kerala. This shows how daytime props can be just as captivating as fire.

A sock poi flow at an ancient temple ruin. The goal is to be present in the moment and not get lost looking for meaning, just enjoying everything that happens.

A quick poi session in a hurry at the Hampi ruins, with security lurking. Sometimes you just have to grab the moment to flow when you can.

A bright yellow poi flow in a temple corridor. The long, symmetrical architecture creates a perfect runway for this walking meditation.

The eye-candy chromatix poi are perfect for practicing throws. Their visibility and balance make them a joy to work with, especially against the backdrop of Hampi's art.

A poi flow in the ancient architecture of Hampi. The stone pillars and carved walls provide such an inspiring setting for a movement meditation.

A fire poi performance at the Himalayan Flow Gathering. This clip captures the energy of flowing outdoors with an audience as dusk settles over the mountains.

About Flow on Location: Travel & Nature

Finding the right spot is not just about the view, it is about the acoustics and the ground surface. When I perform at heritage sites or natural venues, I prioritize minimal impact and blending with the environment. I often scout locations for hours before the light hits just right, ensuring the flow state feels as grounded as the landscape itself.

Flow arts is movement medicine, and for me, that medicine works best in nature. The stones of Hampi, the coast of Kerala, or the silence of the Himalayas provide a canvas that a studio simply cannot replicate. Performing or practicing in these spaces forces you to adapt. You are not just spinning in a vacuum. You deal with the wind, the texture of the ground, and the shifting light of sunset. This adaptability is the core of what I teach.

Whether I am performing fire poi for a festival in the mountains or running a workshop by a river, my goal is to help you move with your environment rather than against it. I often get asked if flow arts requires a huge space. The truth is, it only requires focus. My approach combines technical prop manipulation with the philosophy of being present.

I have performed and taught at various gatherings, including the Himalayan Flow Gathering, and I am always looking for new spaces to connect with. If you are planning an event in a scenic location or simply want to explore how to integrate movement meditation into your own space, let us connect. I bring the same energy to a quiet beach session as I do to a large festival stage.
