If you are stuck on a plateau, let's stop guessing and start breaking down the mechanics. Whether it is a deep backbend or a complex arm balance, I am here to help you understand the alignment and engagement you need to move forward safely.

To see results, you need to practice with attention and regularity. Mechanical repetition brings nothing. This deep forward bend with a bind, a variation of Padangusthasana, requires focus to turn your attention inward.

This is Eka Pada Sirsasana, a challenging pose that requires deep hip rotation and flexibility. Working with a teacher gives you the support and synergy needed to make a quantum leap in your practice.

A private session is about partnership. Here, I am providing a hands-on adjustment to help a student safely deepen their pose. This is where the real work happens, with undivided attention and guidance that helps you understand the mechanics of your own body and move past your perceived limits.

Working closely with a student to refine an advanced posture. With two teachers providing support, the student can explore the pose with an extra layer of safety and guidance. This is the benefit of personalized instruction.

A demonstration of Hanumanasana, the full splits. Ashtanga yoga is a balanced system that builds both strength and flexibility, helping me feel more energetic at 35 than I did at 25.

Using a wall to deepen the stretch in a standing split variation. Props can be incredibly helpful for exploring your range of motion safely and building the flexibility needed for more advanced poses.

Working on Karandavasana, an advanced arm balance that requires immense strength and focus. This pose has been a long journey for me, especially while rebuilding my practice postpartum. It is a reminder that yoga is a process of patient, dedicated effort, not a race to a destination.

Assisting a student with drop-backs in a studio in Pattaya, Thailand. My verbal cues guide her through the movement, helping her find the strength and confidence to come up on her own.

A clip from my home practice, moving through advanced poses from the second and third series, including leg-behind-head variations. Even when traveling, I find time to maintain my practice.

My old friends, the backbends, are returning. Six months after my C-section, my abdominal muscles finally feel strong enough to support deep backbends like Kapotasana again.

About Advanced Asana Workshop

You might think nailing that arm balance is about pure strength, but often it is just about understanding the specific engagement of your shoulders and how you shift your weight. I have been there, getting stuck and feeling frustrated, which is why I do not just give you a sequence. We spend our session breaking down the mechanics, adapting the pose to your current flexibility, and finding the technique that finally clicks.

Moving Past the Plateau

We have all been there. You are practicing regularly, your breath is steady, but you hit a wall with a specific posture like Karandavasana, Kapotasana, or a jump-back. You watch videos, you try to force the shape, but nothing changes. That is because the 'shape' is not the goal. The goal is understanding how your body needs to organize itself to support the pose.

How We Work

In our private sessions, we do not just repeat postures. We zoom in on the technical bottlenecks.

  • Deconstruction: We break the asana into smaller, manageable movements. We identify if the limit is flexibility, strength, or simply a lack of understanding of the leverage involved.
  • Prop Support: Whether you are in my Delhi studio or connecting via Zoom, I show you how to use blocks, straps, or the wall as intelligent tools to access ranges of motion you are currently missing.
  • Personalized Cues: Everyone’s anatomy is different. I provide the specific verbal cues or hands-on adjustments that align with your body, not a generic ideal.

Why This Approach Works

Advanced practice often brings up fear, especially with inversions or backbends. My role as your guide is to provide the safety net that allows you to explore these edges without the risk of injury. We focus on consistent, incremental progress. Often, the breakthrough happens not when you try harder, but when you stop fighting the pose and start working with your own structural realities.

If you are ready to stop guessing and start understanding your practice on a deeper level, let's get on the mat and work through it together.

I am Tanya. I used to chase perfection in my yoga practice until motherhood taught me that the mat is a place for honesty, not just achievements. Now, I help other practitioners navigate the complexity of advanced asanas by focusing on technique, safety, and making space for real life.
